I thought community mods were here to help the community, not lock people out when they look for help

A thread was opened and quickly locked on the Support forums:

The community manager replied to the thread, edited the post at least twice, and then locked the thread. Obviously, the person never actually looked at the pictures or information provided by @Odorousgerm.

Is this what we should expect out of AGS going forward? @Luxendra The dedicated playerbase you have is leaving in droves. This kind of treatment is only going to make more leave.

Support has already explained that they cannot handle those types of issues on the forums because they involve private info that should not be discussed here. Hence, they locked the topic to avoid someone over-sharing personal information.

I strongly dislike the ‘we can’t help for these types of issues’ response and then they point to the TOS. Every other MMO helps. All of them.

Wouldn’t the more appropriate response be “let me reach out to this person privately and see if there is something we can do”. He’s not asking for a full restore (but i bet he would like that) he just want to play with his friends again. The mod obviously didn’t read the post.

They provide support in private channels for issues involving private info. Please don’t ever share private info on these forums.

No private information was shared.

Conversations around account access inherently involve private info. The conversation had to be locked to prevent PII being shared.

Hey Spellshockn,

Thanks for reaching out and Pichu’s correct. Unfortunately only the Support team has the ability to assist with character/account-specific issues like those, especially when they need to collect information that is not meant for public eyes.

In the specific case you linked, I’m unsure if the Support team will be able to assist them (since we are not providing additional world transfer tokens) but they should reach out to our Support team through their website for something like this.
