My steam that i played with familyshare
I appreciate being on a budget, etc but honestly lack of family share isn’t that big of a deal. Have 2 kids and purchasing them each a copy of the game is not any different than I’ve done for the last 20 years + of any non-singleplayer games. Besides, if my kid did something stupid and got banned I wouldn’t want my own account to be linked/tied to that.
Family share is great for single player games, but IMO makes zero sense in any online game where one person’s actions affect other people. While I empathize, I very much disagree with your viewpoint.
It’s not even that unfair, IMO - no more than life in general is. The game doesn’t cost much (relative to other titles), and there’s no subscription fee - if the difference between purchase of a single copy vs a few copies is THAT big of a deal, then you just should not purchase it.
$40 for 4 people is way less than $60 + expansions + subs for each. This is what literally every other online multiplayer game I can think of does. Considering the risks associated with AGS keeping family share enabled and the problems it causes, I don’t think the side affect of following a model every other game in the industry follows (min. one copy per person) is THAT big of a deal.
If you can afford other games that follow this model (this doesn’t sound like your first MMORPG, but maybe I’m wrong), then I would wager you can afford a couple extra copies of NW. It has no expansions or subscriptions (to date) to worry about.
If you take the emotion out of the debate here, there’s very little reason to support family share. Edge cases like yours or mine (I also have family I’m paying for) are not justification IMO for the abuse that family share enables at scale.
Part of my main point here is you’re complaining about NW reverting to a model that every other game uses - so why not go complain about the industry as a whole instead of picking on NW specifically?
You may want to read up on what is family share and what restrictions they have in place. New World did not have the family sharing restrictions imposed as per steam tos. It was allowing gold farmers to create steam accounts and farm gold from one single purchase of the game, all playing the game at the same time.
I also know this to be true because I tested family sharing and was shocked it allowed two accounts on at the same time. This does not happen on any other game because thats how family sharing should work.

Although I understand your issue it looks like something that should never have happened. Why should my game cost 40 euros and yours 40/5? Was it on 80% discount?
Cause you are doing something against the TOS and having the guts to complain about it.
I’m not support. However, I would like to offer you a little insight into why this may be.
Amazon right now have their own platform, with their own social system (Parties and Groups).
It would appear they are just using Steam as a commerce platform, but think about it… this is Amazon, the biggest commerce platform in the world! I personally believe it’s only a matter of time until they pull away from Steam (Who are known to charge extorionate fees to game developers) and develop their own third party commerce and social platform.
Other games on Steam do the same. Games like Rainbow 6: Siege (using Ubi Connect), GTA:5 (using Rockstar Social Club) and Battlefield (using EA Origin).
I would imagine that Amazon will be pulling little by little away from Steam in the coming years to allow them to pull more profit out of their product, but for the moment Steam has a full working commerce platform and a convenient library where people can keep their games centrally.
Myself and my wife have been affected by this Family Sharing nonsense. We play on seperate paid for accounts that we share with siblings now again. Steam laid out the terms for how Family Sharing is supposed to work and Amazon have screwed up by not following those terms. So now they will have to close family sharing until they come up with a solution, but don’t be suprised if they don’t turn it back on. I get paid tomorrow, I will be buying a further 2 copies because I support the game and I like the direction it’s headed so far. Yes, I’m annoyed that Amazon have changed the rules 90 hours into my account, but complaining isn’t going to fix it. Unfortunately you and I are in the minority here.
That said, the sub-standard humans coming out with the abuse are typical in an MMO. Get used to it. “Get a real job” made me laugh though… they clearly don’t know how difficult the job of being a mom is. Good Luck 
in my country the game its 40Eur, and i dont receive 40eur per day on my work lolz, imagine pay again for my kid and mine account again lol.
yes that people who say thats dont have an ideia what’s like, i have 2 kids, 40eur in my country for each, its like 80eur, 2 days working only for buy 2 copies, i spent 333 hours in my account that i cannot play now until i pay more 40eur.
At least if you buy the game to your kids, they can play together and you can play with them, instead of having to wait turn to play
the messed up thing is, they were able to do that before lol. Amazon really dropped the ball on this one!
you can still literally play your same character on your main steam account. just buy the game again. i did and i was able to carry on as normal.
If they wanted 10 people to use a single purchase they could have simply charged $4 for the game and disabled sharing. They didn’t.
I can promise the money people at the top never would have intended it to work like that.
No other online game allows that kind of sharing. Simultaneous play or not. Most even say in TOS that account sharing is not allowed from a single account. Let alone this type of mess.
I’d bet someone got in a lot of trouble over it.
NOW though, since they allowed it, they have to find some compromise to throw out there. If I were to GUESS, and it’s just that, it will be a discount for another purchase to the game so everyone can get back to playing on their own account, like it should have been from the beginning. A “Our bad letting this slip by for long enough that people thought it was a feature, hope you enjoyed the extended free trial, ha ha. Here’s 50% off too. Keep playing!”
i know i can bro, but i dont want to waste more 40eur to buy it again, i’m not rich like this guys and not even close to rich, and amazon is rich and can’t help with our situation, amazon can’t deal with the dupers i guess, and now families who shared the game to our kids cannot play without pay again, if the game can’t be shared since the beginning its ok, but they’ve give you the share option and now they took it from you! For me its a RIP for sure.
i know it sucks… but if you wanna play it… you gotta re buy it. i had to and it stings lol as i went halfs with my brother on his account. and rather than waiting days or weeks to see what they say i just bit the bullet and got it again… hopefully i can get a compensation or something lol but i doubt it
This is a fantastic idea. A discount would certainly be warranted. I’ve just spoken with support and there is literally nothing they can do until an official decision has been made on how they are going forward. Many of you may not agree with a discount being given to those that are affected, but please bear in mind this mistake is not our fault and is an oversight on the dev’s part. I currently have a 90+ hour account that I cannot access without paying the full ammount again, but I’m prepared to wait and see what they have to offer.
TL:DR Support cannot help us. We will have to wait unless we are prepared to pay the full ammount immediately.
what you say is true but when the game first allow the family share and people who dont have any idea of they gonna disabled it later and grind it like 11 hourse per day it’s not the people who use it its game fault who allow it at the first
Just login into the account where the Game is installed (bought account) since you cant Start the game anyway 3 times at once, just login your kid into it and done.
