I wanted to play today but

“Just give up, man” - PCU

Traveling with half full inventory from the destinations where the materials are, to the destinations where the benches are costs between 120-140 Azoth. Now you have the choice of running 10 minutes per destination to collect all materials or to pay the Azoth cost, which is probably something like 400-500 Azoth.

Obviously you can also do a mix of both to reduce time spent on running and amount of Azoth spent.

So if you only have 1-2 hours an evening for playing, that probably feels like a really bad time investment as 2/3 is spent running.

What I personally find the most frustrating with this is passing by tons of resources I’d like to collect and just can’t because it would completly defeat the purpose. So you are really just running for the sake of getting from A to B. Maybe that’s just conditioning from other games, that have bottomless inventories but that really feels unsatisfying sometimes.

YOU understand!
I had tier 5 tannery in reekwater, tier 5 smelter in brightwood, and only tier 5 outfitting station was in cutlass keys. Those were the ONLY ones available on my server. And people are here saying “:
JuSt rUn aRoUnD tHe mAp LUL” it would legit take me hours to go to each station and craft my items by foot.
“JuSt fArM aZoTh tHo LUL” it woud take me hours to farm enough azoth to go from everfall to brightwood to reekwater to cutlass keys with the ressources I needed for the crafts.

To the people who think there isn’t an azoth problem: you haven’t explored the game entirely. Of course if all I do is farm chests in elite zones, i’ll have 1k azoth all the time. Of course if all I do is farm wood in everfall, i’ll have 1k azoth all the time.
But as soon as you start crafting, and farming the ressources you need to craft, you will see how much of a problem it is.
I’m lvl 200 logging mining harvesting tracking, 200 smelting woodworking leatherworking weaving and stonecutting, 200 armoring, 160 engineering and 150 jewelcrafting. And I’ve farmed at least 90% of the ressources I used to level up my crafts. I know what I’m talking about, so you can stop denying my experience.

Azoth is like an allowance when you spend it as fast as you get it and want more allowance when means you’ll spend that too. I’m level 45, I don’t have any shortcuts to azoth and sometimes I over use it when I get lazy. I chop some trees, or harvest or most things like that and you get azoth. Do town quests and get azoth. Or I guess come here to ask Dad for more allowance.

Buy some houses, make use of azoth gain on tools, set your recall point. It ain’t hard. The only times I actually have to use any decent amount of azoth is for Reekwater or Shattered Mountain elite runs. But then again, Myrkgard has portals so it refills my azoth anyway.

The only people I see running out are the people who expect to be able to teleport around the map for free with an inventory full of stuff, and refuse to buy houses or set recalls where needed.

Well then enjoy it while it lasts. If you reach the point where you need to arrange your resources based on the availability of crafting stations, need to organize your resources between 7 or 8 different cities while trying to improve your crafting after they now made the required XP even higher, we can talk again, if you even reach that point.

I had no issues with Azoth either while I was still leveling to 60. I just dumped all resources into the city storage I was just in at that point. All quests gave some small amount of Azoth but there was no need to travel between cities that were 3 or 4 regions apart anyway.

And idk what you mean by town quests. If you refer to the town board, those don’t give Azoth. If you were talking about regular side or main quests… those are long done…

Just out of curiosity, what server are you on? I somewhat doubt you are on one of the lower populated ones if you still find people doing regular elite chest runs and portals.

See my previous message.

Is Jesus a forum moderator? Super cool

wow imagine that… someone not motivated to play because of tedious travel time.
I’m just in shock… the world is so small and its not that bad.

I have too much Azoth and no money.

Aside from crafting items, nothing is gated behind Azoth.
If you can’t play the game without Azoth, that is a you problem, not a game problem.

Don’t worry, it will be in the shop soon enough based on their post from earlier in the year regarding cash shop plans.

I haven’t felt like playing the game lately… Just don’t feel like juggling storage space anymore

I was recently on a low pop server that peaked 200, but moved a week or two ago to a high pop one. On the low pop you could find the odd group doing elites or something, though if you missed a run you might not get another.

But for portals, even lower level ones you can solo are worth it. I have housing in Cutlass, Windsward and Mourningdale. My recall moves around. But on my current server most level 5 stuff is in Windsward so don’t have to go far. On the old server it was Everfall and Windsward that had some level 5s so I’d have my recall set at Everfall.

I see. Thanks for clarifying. As I never really played on any other server, I can obviously only talk about my personal experience on my server and some feedback from friends on other servers and the posts on the forum here.

I have the feeling that every server has pretty much its own dynamics with regards to economy and how good some gameplay elements work or not.

For my part, I didn’t buy any houses so far, so the teleporting is pretty much restricted to waypoints and the occaisonal free port back to the inn. I usually tend to move the inn somewhere where it makes the most sense with regards to what I want to do next.

I didn’t make much money so far, as I usually invest the resources I gather into improving my crafting and we also have a company fee of 700 coins per week to keep our upgrades going. Together with the reoccuring issues so far, I didn’t really feel like investing into houses. But I can see that having the additional free teleports at strategic places would likely improve the situation, given you make the money to keep them.

Azoth in this game is so ridiculous and it doesnt make any sense…

You could walk?
