Ice gauntlet completely bugging out my weapon slots, making them unusable

• What is your character name in New World: Ellies
• What server/world did you experience your issue on: Morrow
• Describe the issue you are experiencing: Unable to unequip ice gauntlet/other weapon (fire staff), abilities on permanent cooldown, and ice gauntlet continues to work even while it’s broken.
• Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
• (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I am unable to change my weapons from ice gauntlet/fire staff that I never use. I am unable to respecc any weapon’s abilities.
• (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No my character is in a very sad state considering both my ice gauntlet and fire staff are very low weapon level despite me being level 60. Also I was using the stats on my weapons to hit 300 strength or constitution depending on what I had equipped, this is no longer the case and I can’t mine or chop wood as effectively until this gets resolved.

• What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: I assume it has something to do with my ice gauntlet’s perks as the issue happened shortly after changing my perks to the following:
  
  
  I then used my pylon to kill a bear in bright wood and after my tower despawned my tower ability button just permanently stayed grey and on cooldown.

UPDATE!
Someone suggested for me to try dying and at first it didn’t seem to work since the ability was still on cooldown, and the ice gauntlet was still working despite being broken, however I was able to take it off!!! So if it ever happens to you, just go crouch in some water and the pesky little gauntlet should come right off (may need to break it first).

Armor & Weapons DO work after being broken, where did u saw mention that they shouldn’t?
After being broken, they stop giving you “blue” bonuses such as attributes & perks.

Oh really? It was just my preconceived notion I suppose, it had felt like I wasn’t able to use my weapons whenever they broke and I had never tried using a broken weapon before so that’s my bad xP
