Let’s make a list and see what is it right now to play mage:
- Pillar of fire: sometimes it doesnt hit, sometimes if you hold shift after a dodge or whatever button, and you cast it on top of yourself
- Meteor shower: Grit from Fiery Determination sometimes isn’t working as you can still get interrupted by stuff that shouldn’t go over gritt (stagger/stun/root)
- Clear mind and most empowers don’t work or they expire if you press “tab” (inventory)
- Fireball sometimes falls inside the ground/flies through enemies
- Prophet of a Fire God passive (beside the very unprofessional typo in it’s description) doesn’t give an increase to crit damage like the other crit damage perks but instead is increasing the value of other crit damage sources.
- Incinirate sometimes doesnt hit for damage or knockback or one or the other (lmao)
- Flamethrower stops dealing damage mid cast
- Burnout doesnt do damage sometimes
- Not gonna repeat myself on Ice Storm
- Ice shower is just a visual wall of friendly snow people and mobs can enjoy and go through without getting rooted/slowed
- Entombed (iceblock) sometimes doesn’t just work and you take damage anyway or if you cancel it too fast because of the clunky game animations that makes you spam your defensive ability you might get the animation and be “frozen” type of thing but still able to walk and of course take damage, missleading to the fact your entombed is soaking the damage.
Conclusions: 8/12 spells are completely broken, 2/12 are somehow broken and this killed completely the mage. Most people is either quitting or swapping class.
BUT THIS IS APPLYING TO ALL AOE SPELLS:
Hammer aoe no stun no damage sometimes, bow poison cloud doesnt poison people, rain of arrows hits the moon going up and never coming down.
Gravity Well is somehow always working and the way it’s hidden debuff works makes me think it’s very different than any other AOE ability in the game.
Meanwhile people running around stacking infinite bloodrage hatchet and macro swapping weapons so they can use Machine Guns since everything else is broken and doesn’t hit.
