Ice Gauntlet snare, (not the root) is causing a no dodge bug

  • What is your character name in New World: Jubbin
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Camelot- ALL
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Ice shower causes a root, and the heavy attack, if it lands, is a freeze. This root- makes it to where you’re not capable of dodging. Which makes sense if you’re rooted, but once the root wears off, and the “Freeze” from heavy attacks- the ice shower also gone- you can’t dodge from the snare that you get after leaving the ice shower. So once the root wears off and you got the snare that lasts 3 seconds or w/e it is, you still can’t dodge which is the ONLY thing that makes IG OP imo.
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug for sure. Root is supposed to be the factor of not being able to dodge, not the snare.
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Not being able to dodge during the snare, not the root from IG ice shower/passives
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Not until I get hit with ice shower again lol
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: N/A at the moment but it’s easy to re-produce
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: have someone with Ice Gauntlet and the ice shower passives that allow you to snare the target affected by ice shower to be snared for 3 additional seconds after leaving the effects of Ice shower- Still can’t dodge.

From what I gather, you can dodge while snared. NOT while rooted, which makes sense to me, except during this snare from IG ice shower- you can’t dodge.

This, as a Spear build with medium armor I dodge a lot, and this bug hurts my build badly.

the effects I speak of looks like this though with Gravity well- but has the same effects with the ice shower. same thing happens, you’re locked, can’t dodge well after the spells effects.

especially when there’s no indicator whether the ice shower is from our team or enemies, makes it even worse. Edit: ice storm → ice shower

for sure… This video I just posted even showed I had 0 debuffs from said gravity well… Ice shower at least pops up with a red icon that indicates a debuff effect. I just feel the no dodge part of it for 3 seconds AFTER the ice shower is gone, is a bit overkill.

I have same issue with rapier/med armor. This makes it quite unplayable for me …

yes, and being stuck unable to dodge melts any build extremely fast from ice gauntlet, especially since ice spike hits 3 times if they line it up correctly

nah, it’s 5 when you hit properly and you have it all specced.

even so- the damage isn’t as bad IF you can dodge at least 1 or 2 of those 3k hits. I just want to move and/or dodge- if you can’t move or dodge even for 3 seconds it’s GG. I don’t mind the damage too much for what it is- but the utility is overkill.

still for some reason life staff mixed with heavy armor is worse XD can’t wait for changes. hopefully they are for the better… They’re nerfing heals, but it was the mixture of both heavy and sacred ground that was the issue in PvP… all it needed was PvP balance, not PvE.

It’s like amazon listened to the wrong people for the changes to life staff :confused:
I don’t mind a life staffer staying alive for a little bit vs 1 pure DPS build- then maybe mana would be a problem for them to mitigate, but I’ve got video of 5v1 lasting far too long.

the damage mitigation from light to medium is insane compared to the gap from medium to heavy.

Full light armor, path of destiny will do 1k sometimes close to 1700ish… in medium load that same path of destiny deals 600ish and from medium to heavy that 600 turns into around 400-500 :expressionless:

I want to see heavy armor get hit extra hard by blunt weaponry or tune the light armor up a bit.

just sucks everything is all out of whack atm.
