All i see is melee players complaining on this forums about ice shower because they get countered while not paying attention and also just pushing aggressively forward. People just get mad about not being able to counter everything with the weapons they main but also dont want to hear anything about the lag of skill that might be the actuall problem of them.
I realy doubt that the ice shower is hard to outplay.
Its also far from easy to catch someone in the shower that is a medium skilled player.

If your not able to get people in ice shower you might want to rethink how you play. kiting some around is pretty much the same them getting caught as people canât doge through it. For melee there is only on way to get to an enemy
Only problem with ice shower is the desync/rubber banding it causes. There are so many times where I get teleported into an ice shower. The ability itself is actually fine

yeah you can also take the hint and disengage. You just tell your healer youâre running and they heal through the weak mage autos.
If you donât have a healer, youâre not in war, and youâre therefore not referring to a game mode that matters.
If we are talking wars then Iâm in 5 g Wells and canât dodge the wall fallowed by 3 ice spikes
ok start with gwell then. It was just given a root - seems like an easy decision.
Ranged and Rapier are suffering a similar fate. If you wonât go head to head in close combat with them then they get really upset. They want everyone to melee in heavy it seems.
It would happen before the change and unless they get rid of g well it is still going to happen
also doesnt help u cant see if ice shower/storm is from a friendly you always have to run around since u cant now if its from enemy or friendly really sucks
youâre basing this on last patch when scream was a shorter cooldown and could be used to limit movement and when you didnt have to panic as much when a grav well was coming (there wasnât a root you had a split second to decide whether to burn movement on).
AGS doesnât leave the game alone long enough or address core concerns well enough to go around nerfing individual spells. The game basically glitches out and applies extra CC when you get rooted. Definitely doesnât help with actually balancing these spells. Either you dont perform actions you should be able to, leading to you dying in the already shitty situation youâre in, or you desync and rubberband while looking like an idiot.
Iâm not, Iâm just saying that unless grav well does nothing people are still gonna use it And it is easier to get out of compared to ice shower which has nothing but walk at a snailâs pace.
Its easier to get out of because it is a zero risk ability vs. an ability that also serves as one of the only ways for a mage to escape.
You said ice shower was basically a 7 second CC because the mage can kite around it. Itâs not. Itâs a 7 second cc if you decide you dont want to do anything other than kill that mage for 7 seconds. You can walk away. The mage canât if you decide to rush and his skill barely works.
ice shower is op the wall needs to be slower and you need to be able to dodge while slowed. this makes no sense, you cant even blocked a ranged magic auto attack which is easier to hit than a melee weapon with the aim assist like wtf? ig needs to be nerfed HARD
Itâs not that risky and if they are FS or rapier they have other ways to get away or even scream on vg.
We are fighting the point s is to get a kill so they are not killing my team. By this logic I should just let them do whatever they want because they have ice shower .

Ice shower is death sentence if you even graze it. Lately it has been used by mages offensively⌠a few times now they have sprinkled it behind me hemming me in whit the âmageâ who then drops storm, switched vg drops scream, purple death circle and then void blades me to deathâŚ
Thatâs some balance⌠mages are not scared of meleeâs at all.
It is way, way more risky than youâre giving it credit for. Youâre not landing a scream while safe - youâre landing it in shockwave, wrecking ball, maelstrom, and grav well range. Bruisers have grit, innate damage reduction included in that and WH.
Mages and healers should be scared of melee - buff hatchet, rapier, and spear offense capabilities to accomplish that. Nerf GA/WH so the players arent confused about how they fit into a balanced game
Ice shower is there specifically so the zerging mass of GA/WH users cant just walk into the backline.
@HaakonStormbrow - fyi - your hypothetical scenario you came up with is just an example of poor play by you and your team.
Why is there a mage behind you able to freecast shower, storm, and scream? Who is attacking him while he does this instead of blocking, which he should have to do to survive if someone jumps him? It sounds like youâre just overextending and then charging into an ice shower to escape instead of positioning correctly from the start.
What are your mages doing? Maybe they should have roles dedicated to them as well (killing overaggressive melee)?
