It’s probably no surprise at this point to a lot of players who hit LVL 60 that major endgame content is being gatekept.
I had joined yesterday an invasion, used a bunch of resources, food buffs, potions, you name it so I could perform better at it, I was doing fine, I was rank 12 we were already at the 5th wave, and then as it was about to end I got kicked, needless to say, I lost all the resources I used, and got 0 rewards for my work at that invasion. That got me very upset, I asked in the faction chat why that happened, the answer from the guild leader of that territory was simply “We don’t like you”. LOL I never really even speak on any chats on this game, just VOIP with my friends, and this dude doesn’t like me alright. Right after that a bunch of people in the chat started saying that’s how that server works, the content is gatekept. I had transferred there with my friends so I didn’t know the history of that server, but after googling around it doesn’t look like it’s a problem with that server but with the way the game mechanics were designed.
Now that I got the context out of the way, let me tell you I understand that Invasions are important for the defending company, and they want people they think can defend there, they also want to benefit their guild members with the rewards, that’s fine, but that’s keeping a lot of players from enjoying that content, and to me personally it’s frustrating to the point I am thinking of giving this game a break until I can participate in more content so here’s one idea I came up with that could help this feature.
Invasions are open to an unlimited number of players how does that work?
- there are multiple instances of the same invasion, if 100 people join the invasion there will be 3 groups 34, 33, 33 in each
- the only thing the owner of the territory can do is rearrange the first group, the rest will be randomized
- no members are allowed to be kicked during the event unless they are AFK (0 score for more than 1 wave?) in which case the system should automatically kick them out
- difficulty is scaled by the number of players and capped at a maximum that an instance can hold (for example 40 players are the max per instance, that’s the max difficulty)
- the outcome can be determined by the group who performs the best, in which case this is advantageous for the owner’s of the territory and we can still have everyone participate in the content
I really like this game, I have been playing since day 1, played even in closed beta, now that I just hit 60 I am starting to lose interest because I am being kept of major content, which gives a bunch of rewards that I could use, I have endured game-breaking bugs, but being kept away from content is just not working for me personally, I am curious to learn what the rest of the community thinks about it and if they have anything to add/remove from the proposed ideas
if you made it this far thank you for reading!
