So you’re right. I had forgotten about the Elin in that game. I never rolled one as they’re weren’t interesting to me. New World doesn’t have them and they shouldn’t. Especially given today’s climate for entire personalities being based on mental health issues and being applauded for it. But those characters weren’t my point.
However;
The lingerie was over the top and outrageous. The shop items were colorful and exaggerated, silly and ridiculous and they sold like hotcakes. Female players could enjoy the gear as much as the male players, regardless of their IRL preferences which ARE IRRELEVANT in a video game.
If you want to be a TofuTupperwareSexual with Gravy to the 33rd degree, go for it. Whatever floats your boat. In Game. Because that’s why we’re here. The game.
I mean I am honestly disappointed that we don’t have giant Turkey Leg Warhammer to beat people with. Or a skeleton bow with an intestine draw string. These things are fun and ridiculous.
I would like to see recustomization options once you add something substantial to the system, preferably for free or at costs that are reasonable since we lacked those options at the start.

It doesn’t matter if it sells. If they start implementing stuff like this I’m out in a heartbeat. You may have not had the wonderful chance of discussing with some of the TERA community but it’s so disturbing I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. They don’t have to implement these.
BDO does have some nice outfits. I’m talking about TERA’s choice of cosmetics.

Not quite, biological sex is a bimodal spectrum and our current classification of sex characteristics (what counts as male, what counts as female) is a social construct as well.
I don’t recall if it was during Closed or Open Beta as I was part of both, but I remember there was a huge outcry (and honestly I was one of the players unhappy with it) with the rainbow tiger pet. It looked so grossly out of place in the game. One of the things I love about New World is the grittier style of the game, while still being visually stunning. If I wanted overexaggerated, cartoonish, hypersexualized and colorful characters, I’d play the myriad of Asian MMOs that offer that.
The police cars were hilarious and fun. Of course they won’t come to New World. Nor will anything I’ve suggested. There’s really nothing to fear from opinions nor will you sway me away from them.
They’re my opinions.
Everything in new world will remain BROWN indefinitely and the female characters will always look like males. Nothing will fundamentally change about the game no matter who suggests what.

i for one love the fact that it is low fantasy.
no bikini armor in sight, no boob windows, no cod pieces, just relatively sensible armor and clothing.
we dont all need to be constantly stimulated to have a good time.
Females being not feminine enough is one of the biggest gripes from my female friends & guildies. Some of them even chose not to try out New World because they really disliked how masculine females looked. It would be nice if AGS could give people the option to make cutesy female physique if that’s what some people want.
AGS completely botched this one. All you gotta do is spend some time in any of the decently popular MMO’s today to know that pretty characters sell. If AGS wants to make good revenue from selling cosmetics, they need to go back to the drawing board and make sure people can make good looking characters.
You don’t need to go overboard and be like BDO where you’re selling panties and create boob animations. But having the basics such as being able to create cutesy faces, walk/run less like a giant, and have better hair options will really help.
to be fair there arent that many games out there that does follow the more “realistic” fantasy route for rpgs.
almost every other rpg follows the hyper sexualized high style fantasy of wow and jmmorpgs. (though outside of the mithra cat girls and child tarutaru, ff11 had some relatively decent grounded fantasy aesthetics
i think there is room for a overcast depressing realworld ish mmorpg.
They had to walk that like of “wokeness” so they didn’t offend anyone. Very pretty female characters are offensive to ugly people IRL I guess.

Proof of this is on the Login Login screen (yes the pre login screen after you login) that basically says “we’re sorry if our fake world and characters offended anyone, we’ll change it so we don’t get sued”
It’s insanity that anyone would feared into this mindset. It’s a fictional game. If anyone has an issue with it. Laugh at them LOUDLY, point and tell them to kick rocks.
