If you are 520 GS, that is on you

To be fair they did address the gear score scaling issue in the patch notes and have allegedly fixed it.

And creating new methods and buffing other methods

It is not fixed.

the patch claims it changes gear scaling in pvp for that issue

They changed the way the damage formula works but they did not actually FIX what is occurring in PVP between different armor types, armor resistance values and just continued with it being linked to gearscore scaling but essentially reversed it.

Even with this change your item’s armor resistance stats are still meaningless in PVP, this is a quick bandaid fix when what the game needs is a deep dive into how armor works in pvp, balancing the basis of different armor types and reworking the different armor weight classes.

You’re totally missing the point. you are saying ā€œthats on youā€ when its totally the improper way to view this sitaution. Amazon is basically saying we only value the time you gearing up if its via watermarking. We quite literally don’t want players to be able to spend time stimulating the economy, harvesting, mining, logging, doing these tasks for multi-days on end to earn 300 coin/h or less… then once they finally save up enough coin to buy voidbent. you’re telling them that the time they spent isn’t valuable enough to be rewarded with the high watermark… Okay, what if i don’t want to grind mobs to get high watermark… what if i want to grind coin, and buy high watermark… why is buying it like this such a bad thing?? players literally get to pick the price themselves they sell 600 gs for…

hmm huh because your dmg will scale according to your GS wich is bad.
And i was so positive about the game path this goes against the idea of a balanced 1-60 pvp game.
i ofc hate the WM system there is no need for such a thing tbh

I agree

Welp this isnt work either. This is a game if I wanted a second job I would’ve went and got one. You can play this game the way you want to play it. Some people like PVE some like PVP. Some like the grind some doesn’t . Me I bought all my 600GS from the trade post but it doesnt mean that I stop grinding GS it just mean it can be secondary and that I dont have to go fight the same mob or look the chest over and over again I can go do other things OPR, PVP, gathering crafting. I do my chest run everyday but at the same time if I grind enough coins I can still compete with other guys eventually i’ll get to 600GS. When a game become work then it stop being fun. I already uninstalled and I’m done with the game. I don’t have the time so then I’m out because I can’t catch up to hardcore players like you. I’m just a casual player no point in me playing if I can’t catch up or be on the same level.

Can you even read?
Wm is not reset.
You can craft 7 diff casts per day.
Just 1 per slot.
Learn to search a forum before posting ignorant things.

You realize that its still 40 days before you get back your gear? Who will wait that long to be able to play the game again.

Core game feature just had the rug pulled out from under it by the devs trying to figure out how to gate/stall progress until they figure out the game’s direction. It is not on the players if they have low 520 gear score. What the hell kind of a statement is that OP? People were playing with the tools they were given , along with OPTIONS. Now that is wiped away, like it or not. (Not a receipe for success).

However, I expected these posts to pop up from the ā€œ600 eliteā€ crowd. They are wetting themselves knowing they are gonna be able to crush players in PvP, etc with the mismatched GS for months (maybe longer). I been here since day one 800+ hours (590+ gear scores if your wondering) I have seen so many ā€œeliteā€ guilds and groups abusing named mob mechanics (instant respawns) to raise watermark ( was invited to many of them, but I just did reports). These are the people (as well as the legit chest openers) that are being rewarded with PvP server dominance once this goes live.

I think OPR and open world PvP will take a hit due to low score players not wanting to be rolled until they gear up properly. So in turn, the 600 club will just be killing each other for the first 6 months or so i guess. Better hope not too many crafters get miffed and leave, you won’t eat or heal yourself. Game was designed to be played multiple ways at launch, (go back and look at the advertisements). It is not the fault of the 520 GS player.

Not a good look for Amazon, make a PvP/PvE/survival craft MMO and divide the playerbase. This should not have been an update, it should have been a core feature in the expension for balance/new content purposes.

Everything you say is absolutely full of BS. If you have crafted BIS gear + 600 WM you bought it from someone.

If you have both you most likey are an exploiter or capitalized on it.

There has been a massive change in the game forcing people who chose a path to have to reverse course and do some other activity which is frankly boring. There is only one path to having a powerful character now and the only person who would defend a change like this at this stage of the game is an idiot.

If it were like this from the beginning it would have been fine, but this change wipes out a lot of advancement from many people and nullifies 100s of hours of gameplay and 10s of thousands of gold.

It is all being done because there are extremely powerful companies that have taken over servers because one guy crafter the entire war party voidbent and they did it with duped resources. Amazon is lying to us about removing all that gear, so instead they have decided to rebalance, by weakening all the people who were handed gear, but they failed to recognize the person that crafted it all.

I haven’t ever duped anything, nor bought and sold anything that was known to be exploited. I have queued OPR nonstop while playing, and farmed for hours every day.

I play about eight hours per day, 5 days a week. Instead of power leveling through content, I focused on trying to keep my crafting in line with my level. When I saw resources I was not able to gather in a new zone, I went back to farming for hours until I was able to gather them. Unknowingly I was penalized for this as I blew past several luck barriers die to luck bugs and was not getting correct drop rates from harvesting and skinning because my luck was too high. Never was compensated for my hard work and their bug and now I’m getting hugely nerfed after spending 1000s of gold on gear upgrades. My stash of void ore that was once worth over 75k and took me months to accumulate is not worth maybe 12k and I can’t even get any benefit from the gear.

They literally caused me to completely waste 2 months worth of game time and yeah…I am pissed.

Dude why even bother getting your point across when the other guy doesn’t care.
Ofc it’s a very bad decision and a huge timegate.

This is where I disagree. I chose to become a crafter instead of jumping onboard of the ā€œelite chest runsā€ which, let’s be honest, is not how the game was made. They have already tried to nerf/change how those are being done, never the less, people are still doing them.

I also chose to not use any of the many exploits/bugs to farm instant respawning bosses, or kill bosses that are much harder than should be… They also nerfed/fixed most of that, up to and including buffing bosses beyond what is reasonable…

Again, I chose to become a gatherer/crafter for my gear, because ā€œI THOUGHTā€ there were many ways to accomplish the same goal…

Results:

Hours Played: 739

Weapon Watermark Average: 520
Armor Watermark Average: 540

So yeah, I feel extremely jaded that people who took advantage of game mechanics that were ā€œNEVER INTENDEDā€ get to walk into these changes with full watermark, where people like myself who actually worked for what we have, are going to lose it all.

So, let’s just reset watermark and call it a day. Fixes all of the problems that the exploits/bugs created and gives everyone a fair playing field.

If you have no life farming chest 8+ hours a day, it’s on you.

Ooops… see what I did here…

You can always guarantee that this is from the lips of someone that has plenty of time to put 8+ hours a day into the game. I bet your against any form of XP boost’s also. After all, you have loads of time to sink into the game, you wouldn’t want a fair fight. You wouldn’t want the possibility of a filthy casual actually being able to compete with you.

Except it takes about 1.5 hour per day.
