If you can win 3v3s without a healer when the other team has one, how can you expect healers to keep up themselves and a group in wars and opr?

So I keep doing PTR arenas and i absolutely LOVE it, i think a ton of us pvpers who duel and do a ton of wars are ready for this

but you guys did kill healers, the stam changes plus all the changes to lights embrace makes them easy to kill, the only successful ones are ones who hide behind pillars the whole time, and even still you can have two members walk around and destroy them while they spend the (OVER 1 second) cast time trying to heal anybody.

Healers as they are would obviously be overpowered in arenas, 100% agree, but now you definitely dont need them, but now they will be the easiest targets in war and opr because they are so stationary (the walk they can do now doesnt change a thing).

If a healer doesnt change anything in 3v3s how are they even supposed to be useful in opr or wars? Likely many will stop playing it because nobody wants to stand there and get CC’d while they are waving a lifestaff in the air

Its because they added healing dampening in arenas (needed), thats not in opr or war so you can heal yourself for a lot more and therefore survive no?

I haven’t tested PTR since playing the first edition of it.

He is probably talking about the ring of fire which reduces healing significantly. There is no gradual reduction of healing over the time of the match afaik.

What match actually gets to the ring of fire… Lol. I have yet to see one hit. I played around 50 or so matches.

This is wrong, healing starts to weaken before the ring of fire. Literally from 20 sec in the match your numbers begin to drop. Run healer and look at your numbers at the start and 1 minute in and you’ll see it. When the circle closes your like 80% weaker heals so they do like nothing

Been playing arena 3v3 a couple of hours per day for the past 2 weeks.

90% of the time, a team with a healer will beat a team without a healer.

Its hard to say for sure. Healers do require all items to be very good at healing. Also all other builds are random to on ptr. We cant test anything combat related and be sure its good or bad since we have random crap on ptr.

Interesting, thanks for clarification. Does the healer get a debuff? Can’t test myself in the next couple days.

They really should just make a character copy to PTR like every other MMO on the planet for things like this. If its a naming thing (like we can only have one name worldwide) they can simply add [PTR] in front of the name as it copies.

I understand they would like some stuff tested that would be better tested without bis gear but they can still keep the backstories for that.

Just kidding. The real healers (people who actually want to heal and not worried about being a god) in New World will adjust and be just fine.

Healing isn’t dead. Group healing is dead, I know most people have no idea the difference. But at the top level of PvP in this game they understand

Let’s be real group healing was busted and OP , having an instant-cast that can heal for over 6-7k on a 3-5sec CD was BUSTED.

Sure you can argue it was, but if you think it’s busted increase cooldown and decrease how much it heals for. Both solve your issue. The instant cast is needed, standing still for over a second is so hard with burst damage in this game to 1 keep your guys alive and 2 keep yourself alive.

Again we aren’t saying it couldn’t be toned back, we are just saying cast times are ass

I agree that they made a lot of changes in same « package » if we can say. I’m a back line killer for wars and I think only stamina management will be a HUGE hit to healers and they will have a hard time will all Thoses d’ajustements. Should be same thing for both teams so I guess healers who adjust quicker will win, I agree they might of nerfed healer too much components of healers and we will see how it plays into LIVE or if they do iteration in PTR ( highly doubt that one)

Ah honestly we’ve already discussed as a company/faction. We don’t see a place for group healers. We are going to try it out, but probs will shift to more all AOE half with rapier low con and other half VG higher con

There a ton of our healers playing hatchet atm to counter SnS /BB clown killing squad. But I agree, I think most healers (8/12 on war rosters ) should be AOE heal and 2-3 with point teams to run group healing, still need to be tested I agree

Naw man with the stam, slow and cast time, idk if a light healer will have the time to cast for a point group. Maybe a flex group or dive group. But I can’t see that freedom with how many healer killer groups that they can reliably get that 1sec cast off.

It’s really closer to 2 secs with the animation and having to target. It’s really painful

And hatchet is fine to live through the first burst? What about right after defy death ends? You die. It won’t work post patch cause you can’t insta LE yourself back to health. Cute people are doing it now, but will not do anything for healers outside of OPR

You actually got Berseker and Defy death so you got 2 options to get out of that one shot. Is that perfect ? Probably not but it’s what we found useful till they nerf BB oneshot combo Edit : I’m not talking about experience for myself but one of our best healers that say hatchets counter that combo so I’m just relying
