Maybe what they need to do is to buff heavy armour with thrust resistance, current light armour meta is insane.
My position on bow is that it’s got too much damage, especially for the amount of con you can have while doing that much damage at range.
I always have full resil, some elemental or phys aversion, and always 32-35 thrust resistance, and bows kill me more than anything else in this game and it’s not even close. This is my personal experience.

It’s because of too much love for melees, man. It is possible to kill a medium bruiser in 2-3 hits if it is possible only with stacks of mortal empoverment, headshots with a varpal perk, if this bruiser without thurst resistance, in a void bend, where he has a maximum of 1000 physical protection (or less) and he has 7-8 K hp. But this is an extremely strange and unviable build for a bruiser. And even in this situation, I’m not sure that I will kill the target in 2-3 hits, maybe 1 time out of 10. Where do people get these fairytales from? …
I assume that they have seen enough of the Arrowli video where he runs with 500 dex, but this is an extremely rare case and if he get hits, he himself will die in 2-3 hits, as he run in light armor. This is purely a fun story, this is not a general situation even once.

You misunderstand me…
- Ranged must remain Ranged (in following, i also include mages in ranged), melees must remain as they are as a whole so they can control the point. I agree with the current concept of role allocation. But if you play wars, you know that if there are 4 mages, 3 muskets and 5 bows, then this set-up is called the “abuse rangeds” and the end result is a situation where you have a ±(approximate set-up, so you don’t get attached to digits) set-up: 30 melee and 12 rangeds is already a non-classical situation for war, something “extraordinary”. Know what I mean? All I’d like is a more in-demand place for rangeds in competitive content.
- I play arenas. Arena is potential content that is begging to be ranked, competitive content. If you also play, I think you understand that the greatest strength and danger is the composition of the healer + 2 bruiser, healer + bruiser + ranged, sometimes there are teams of 2 ranged + healer. More often serious teams are always healer + bruiser + someone else. Team of 3 dd is obviously in a worse position than the team with a healer now. I don’t have much complaint about the arena, because it’s hard to determine the meta at the moment, since there is no rating. I think this is understandable.
OPR. Look, opr is just a fun battleground. I don’t pay attention to it at all. And I guess everyone’s attention is riveted on the OPR situation because the game just has poor pvp content. I do not even want to consider what’s happening on the OPR. It makes no sense in the future. In my opinion it’s hard to call it a competitive mode in its usual sense. Developers can do as much as they like leaderboards in OPR, I will not consider it seriously. Serious rating system is just a rating (ELO) and that’s it.
But since we’re talking about large group content, I assume you mean it, let’s consider competitive large group content. It’s wars. What setups are popular in wars right now? Definitely not the one with more than 10 rangeds (including mages) out of 50 people.

Arena’s should have their own separate balancing from the entire game. OWPvP, OPR and wars would get ruined if you sololy balanced for 3v3’s.
Main PvP content is large-scale and should be balanced towards large-scale combat, 3v3’s when instanced in should have certain adjustments made in itself. They already reduce all your stats when you die so they can obviously make small adjustments in the instanced content. Delete the overall balance of New World in your mind when comparing it to 3’s. Adjust 3’s for 3’s, not the entire game.

About the balance, I’m interested. You write that you need to balance the game towards large scale combat. I wonder how you imagine the balance for 50x50? Here’s how to do it in general? No one is not even going to do it. Any large-scale combat (if you take combat by tactics, rather than random groups) is still to divide into groups by tasks. So balancing small but group content is the obvious solution for both situations. In the current game (in the long run), the competitive group content is arenas. So if the developers will pay attention to arena balance, the balance of large-scale battles will be in a good condition. Well that’s about the general outline, in fact some things should be taken into account already on the fly.

Also, the ONLY competitive stage in New World right now at the moment is 50v50 wars for tier 1, 2, 3 territories.
Now yes. I agree with this. Unfortunately this is the case now. But, I really hope that in the future they will introduce a rating. This is simply necessary and then the arenas will become competitive content “for everyone”.

Well okay, you will have a set of 24-25 melee, 10 mages to gachi fight mainly to support who? Yes! For melee support. And I’d like a better state for ranged. This setup more truly?
Then so be it. I hate the nerf approach as opposed to bringing up other weapons or fixing weapons.
Have you seen the state of OPR lately? It’s either steam rolled by two stacked premades or the entire team is bow/muskets.
There is a reason why everyone is using a bow or musket lately. They sit back do high damage, are able to stat pad and if they focus shot someone with a few other bows there is no escape.
I personally think bow is on the stronger side atm with how high it’s dps is with the range it can just sit at and a good bow with a rapier can almost always escape. There is a reason you see 1-2 ranged always hit 15 stacks every game.
This is the one nerf I will gladly welcome if it makes open world and OPR more enjoyable for the player base again.

War rosters vary but typically you have 14/16 bruisersand that’s normally all you got with 14/16 IG/VG/BB mixes in the group.
12 healers or so and then whatever is killing the best in the current meta. For the longest time it was FS/IG then BB + IG/SnS now it’s GS with some bows mixed in.
It’s honestly decently balanced.

7/7 ranged weapons are used in war while 6/7 melee weapons are used in war.
Balance 3’s in itself and give it ranked.
Archers often run with a spear. But who cares about archers, right?
Remove mortal empowerment and delete musket. Nuff said
that same bruiser can 2 to 3 tap a bow player too, happens all the time, learn how to time your stuns, l2p issue.
