I'm done before NW fries my rig

Tired of playing with both CPU and GPU fans spinning full blast, it’s stressful and it’s ruining the fun.
No other game that I play does this to my PC.
I’ll come back in a couple months, maybe they will sort this out but I’m not holding my breath.

If you’re able to monitor temperatures, that is a much better way of determining how efficient your cooling setup is, and how stressed you ought to be, than looking at fan speed.

Example:
Card: 3090
Cooling: Stock fans
Average temp: 60-62c (after several hours this is the peak)
Settings: Very High
Ambient temp: 21c

Other things that help

  • cooler ambient temps
  • air movement in the room/house
  • better case fans that move a high cfm of air
  • knowing the tdp (thermal design power) max of your card so you know how close you’re getting to its limit.

What is the temperature you’re running at?

I think something might be wrong with your setup OP, I’m running on very high on everything with my rig and the temperatures are well within acceptable ranges.

Well, get a decent pc and stop playing on a toaster.

Thanks for trying to help but it’s no use.
I know my problem, I have a major GPU bottleneck. Everything is modern except the GPU (1060).
I won’t upgrade it because prices are stupid these days.

That being said I still think NW is a major resource hog like I’ve never played before. To me it screams poor optimization but I’m no specialist.

I’m kinda gladded they waffled on pvp in this game, because I wouldn’t be able to stop.

…at least this way my gpu is safe for fresh *** classic.

My girlfriend plays on a 1080ti GTX with no issues on medium settings with no issues. She has a micro-build PC with poor cooling also. The hardware can handle more than you think.

You realize it’s not NW but poor quality control and manufacturing of the computer components, example 3090 gpu

Go into your settings and fix the fps to 60. Will stop the over heating.

The irony is the better setup you have the worse the heating gets unless you take some precautions and manually set some things like frame rate.

Fyi it might just be a fan profile issue. I know if I leave my profile at default, on warm days every few minutes the GPU fan will kick up to max for about 3 seconds because the temp crosses the threshold programmed into it. However, if I manually tweak the profile so the fan runs 5% faster, it stays cool enough to be below that mark and works perfectly.

It may be as simple as adding a few % to the fan speed in NW, Despite the hubub made about the 3090 issues in closed beta, both Amazon and the cards manufacturer came out and said it was a card issue, not a game issue. Amazon blaming them makes sense, but you know the manufacturers wouldn’t say it was their fault if it wasn’t.

I would like to mention that this game… is huge. It is three times the size of Call of Duty Warzone map and is foliage heavy while running at 2k textures.

Its only 37GB in size.

Call of Duty is running at 450GB-570GB (roughly since they patch their game every 2 weeks) and is terribly optimized.

This is the most optimized MMO to date.

The biggest issue for me was that the maintenance or any update in general was reseting the settings that i had making my PC to act like it was ready to blast it to Mars.

The fix for me was to go at the Nvidia Control Panel then add New World and limit everything for the game from there.

Now my PC is much more quiet and especially when i am going to town.

This happens because you play the game with UNCAPPED frames. Play on 60hz cap, and your pc will work normally. At the moment the game is not fully optimized to play with uncapped frames unless you want to burn your video card. Down below you can see the proof: cap60
