I got over 700 hours on Bow/spear build an i decide end this journey right now. The game and combat is laggy even i got PC for 2k…( at release or beta/alpha testing i never got problems with fps) where is 10+ people and some brute like in OPR you cant see nothing because people start teleporting… you cant see hitboxes of enemy because there is Huuuge UI on Hp bars and name bars so if 5 people at same place you got 0 chance to hit something because everything what you see is HP bar and name of player - this ui change was in one patch but i see nobody think about ranged players if they can see something … arrows fly threw people without damage … splinter shot = UNPLAYABLE spell because someone decide to absolute ruin it from Alpha testing where this spell was the most OP spell in game now its trash… rain of arrows playable only in dungeons and rapid fire is unplayable in pvp too because you must stay in place for 4 second you cant even cancel spell with dodge animation or nothing!! My head is going to explode when i try hit people on bigger range and then is here musket what deal 2 time more damage on light attack you must not even try to aim. The crossair! How you cant make editable cursor for ranged players after x months?? And why i still cant switch cursor from right side of my character to left side? Its really that hard to make it? From now… i play bow only in dungeons… maybe when 1v1 or 2v2 arena will go out (god save you if arena will never came to this game) and thats all. I start playing some 0 IQ build like void gauntlet fire staff. Dont play bow guys… its the most trash weapon actually in game.
just switch to musket tbh, it’s better in every way till they fix it
I’ve been using bow since launch and i can’t agree more. playing bow is just frustrating, be it the skills, clunky animations, unreliable skills (Posion shot and penetrating shot), That HP bar you mentioned, crosshair issues where you have to aim a bit to right, Desync and lag is the worst and i can go on and on.
I think fixing desync and lag and then those clunky animations is the first step into right direction for the bow.
To everyone sayjng bow is OP, it might be it might not, but there are fundamental problems with bow that need fixing.
Musket has similar problems and others. I tried musket for a while recently and well friendlies blocking shots, smaller area to hit enemies, low damage, at best you’re just harassing people.
With bow I’ve not had the issues the OP is saying as much, but I run penetrating/evade/poison. My issue lately has been everyone and their mum is spamming dodge. No one saves it for dodging something, they just randomly spam it while running around non-stop. So the shots I manage to land end up going through them half the time because they’re dodging. It’s stupid.
The lag thing might be people with lag switches. I’ve had a few people that I’ve found in OPR, that if I run up to them with my spear, they’ll stop moving then as I hit them, teleport 5m away. It happens every time. They also do it when I shoot at them if they see me. No one else at the same time does it, just them.
The only real issue I have, aside from jump shooting BS exploiting, is sometimes shots not firing. Like I’ll prepare poison/penetrating shot, go to fire it, and nothing happens, click it again, and it’ll sound like I’m firing twice and it’ll go, though sometimes it just fires a normal shot and cancels what skill I was trying to use.
lol I doubt it, everyone in OPR is lagging rn.
I mean not really I’m 3 shotting light armor and owning medium still.
About that lag switch, your wrong. It is just desync, lag and generally bad net code.
Here’s an example:
When im running around the world and dodge/cancel for movement buffs and (Mostly but not always) run out of stamina i find my self rubberbanding, almost teleporting like 50-60 meteres forward.
Im always afraid that someone reports me for this. like im in an sticky situation, and then after dodging im 50 meteres away and able to survive.
