Some people are just really good shots but there are a lot of people using aim bots. Even some of the best FPS players in the world miss shots.

This guy killed me in 3 shots multiple times last night. 4k each. I think he was just good aim, as he did miss at times. I don’t have an issue with that it’s the 4k DMG. I do 2.5k max with penetrating arrow crit. Meh, I’ll just persist with bow even though it’s shite now.
get better gear. A bow user can get 39 resist 40-50% absorb rather easy in med armor. A musket user is not going to be hitting you for 4k a pop through that.

People do use aimbots in this game. We have at least two known on my server. They hit head shots in the jungle part of the map without fail even with spell effects going off with you dodging.
I’m talking 2 to 3 headshots back to back and the only way to escape it to get out of their range.
2-3 cheaters on Maramma as well.
Almost never miss their shots and each time people try to kill them, they dodge always at the time you click.
There are a solid number of aim bots out there.
For playing legit it’s all about dpi. Having a button to lower your mouse dpi and tapping it when you aim down your musket REALLY improves accuracy. Then tap another one to raise it back up to normal.
The reason is that the musket’s hit scan is like 1 pixel wide. Unlike all other projectiles which have a width and are much more forgiving for hits. So you can’t be off AT all - which you always are due to basic latency. Dpi drop buttons are critical.
If they keep headshotting you through foliage, it is most likely aimbots. I do not PvP much, and do not play musket much either, it is way too clunky for me, but I had some fun shooting UFOs and pirates with it during winter event and it was not that hard to aim once I got used to it. I prefer to play sniper in FPS games, and I am not as good as I was when I played CS daily, but some people can be on par with aimbots… if they can see their target. Aimbots excel when the visibility for honest players is reduced.
Just to let you know foliage disappears at a certain distance and you can see the enemy clearly. Additionally, if someone is standing in a bush, you can see the player’s name tag.
If you are not 590 expertise at least and you don’t have epic gear 600 GS then you will do no damage and people that quickly leveled up at the launch phase and use all the exploits to level up the gear expertise quick to 600 will always kill you easy.
Welcome to new world balance. With the last patch they fix this issue but only for new players. Old players can breath in peace.
Not only that, now hard core players that are already 600 and are quickly leveling up to 625 they will absolutely destroy you if you don’t have high expertise and epic gear.
Yes the difference between high expertise and epic gear and standard players is abysmal.
But don’t worry, if you leveled up to 60 to finally do battlegrounds and you suck, then you can do pve stuffs like cut trees and kill wolfs.
By the way, people that use musket and don’t fail are usually using aimbot. You will just know because they don’t miss a shot, is pretty obvious.
