Imbalanc. Rapier + Bow / Musket + Rapier vs DPS Melee

Good afternoon. I would like you to pay attention to pvp where dps melee and musket + rapier or bow + rapier are involved. Despite the fact that it is impossible to catch them in any way if your set is heavy or medium, it is impossible to capture them even in a camp or in another skill. In addition, they have rolls, they have skills that help to get out of the dome or out of staves. HOW TO PLAY?! Or there is an endless pvp for 1-2 (or more) hours due to the fact that everyone respawns at the camp due to the fact that there is a small CD - a few seconds. The same, you can’t guess them in any way due to the fact that they have rolls and skills that help you get out of different skills and move even faster.
I have a video where you can see all this very clearly, 3 DPS cannot kill one RDD due to coups, due to skills on the rapier, etc. I WANT YOU TO PAY ATTENTION TO THIS !!! IT’S ALREADY BEGINNING TO WEAR.

Uhhh yes rapier requires some brainpower and muscle memory to play effectively otherwise it would be a useless garbage weapon. It’s not the weapon but dex tree perks adding lots of haste from dodges and movement. If youve ever played rapier with int it’s quite easy to be caught.

The problem is the rapier stun. It shouldn’t be AOE, it should stun the attacker, like it’s written in the description. I’m saying this as a rapier user, it’s just too easy to escape by stunning everyone around you.

to be really fair here tho as a rapier user, the only reason i would attempt a riposte in a group setting is because of the multihit, otherwise i would not be in the middle of 3 people to begin with. so this wont solve the “catch the rapier” problem, they will simply stop doing that and use mobility to make distance instead, switch to ranged and then pew pew.

That said tho your suggestion about making it NON-AoE does not punish musket+rapier or bow+rapier , i mean your still 3 seconds invulnerable, enough time to fleche away. Also this would hurt my playstyle way more then the ranged/rapier playstyle. i play sword/shield/rapier , 150con/300dex+ , and for me its fun to be able to stay in close combat, if i make 1 mistake i die very fast already. Riposte is already broken atm (last second riposte you take full dmg, riposte dont trigger and ur stuck for 4 sec in 1 place, also in defense of any rapier user, its not their fault that when u jump in a group that there is always 1 idiot who hits into it and gets all his friends stunned.

Sometimes you get jumped even as a rapier user, it happens. The combination of mobility plus aoe stun make it too hard to catch anyone with a rapier. Again, I play it, It’s too easy to escape. The invulnerability stops right after riposte triggers, so if you are surrounded by 3 people (or more, since I’ve seen it happen) even if you trigger the stun you wouldn’t be that hard to catch if only one of those people got stunned. Rapier should just be (as it is already) super strong in 1vs1 scenario. Also, why should I be penalized if someone next to me makes a mistake and attack a risposte? Doesn’t make sense.

you forget tho, the game is not build around duels, its build around 50vs50, and if u keep in check all the other weapons that multi-hit (every weapon does almost) then all you’d be doing is breaking rapier to a point where its not usable. and become a meme weapon for duelists.

That said, i will kindly ask AGS to not push me over the edge by nerfing that, as im already on the breaking point of leaving with the current state of combat.

But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s an imbalance. What kind of pvp is it when you sit and run for 20 minutes with one person using a rapier? And besides that, there were 3-4 of us. Nobody could do anything to him. I think this is nonsense. Or there is some kind of balance, or to hell with this pvp. And the developers want to improve the pvp side.

im okay with it, but then remove multi hit from every melee weapon to “balance” it.
(you cannot take the candy from 1 kid, and let the other kids keep their candy)

why would i have to be hit by a greataxe that is being swung at my buddy, and not have the tools to repel that, that would just be nonesense and imbalance. I understand your frustration, but at the same time i get tired of people that demand to be able to capture every single player just because they are chasing it with 3 or more like bloodhounds. The rapier does not provide any haste buffs to my knowlegde and is not the weapon that is breaking it. its the combination of other things paired with it that can break the rapier, bow + rapier being a perfect example. you will never catch them with their haste buffs. AS SHOULD BE imo. the only issue i have with bows is that they crit insane ammounts of damage and you should just never chase one down.

I find it funny that the bruiser meele players (GA/WH) started a lot of “nerf dex escape” And the dex players started like 5 “healers are unkillable demigods” threads. Also a few “heavy armor bruisers are unkillable and oneshot me” and “voidgauntlet kann 1v5 kill everything”
Maybe it comes all down to rock, paper, scissors combined with skill and gear gap

yes, im tired of these threads aswell, and its scary because AGS tends to make unpopular changes…

“you should never follow them” - what is the logic? Should I sit afk and wait for someone to kill me? Do you call this pvp? I agree with you on some points, but I did not come here to play catch-up, there must be some balance between that. It just promotes interest in pvp.

You shouldnt have any problem catching a musket rapier user if you are in med range. As for bow\rapier, the rapier is a mobility, finisher weapon. The whole point of it is to finish people off or to run away (most builds). You shouldnt have more mobility than a light armor bow\rapier user its literally THE mobility spec. Also most good great axe players/hammer, or mage players dont have issues with rapier bow most of the time especially with the new anti range perks and resil.

seems like a skill problem for you. We have had multiple Dueling tournments and the winner is never a rapier\bow\musket user. I generally think in your case its due to skill and gear and experience or perhaps your build. If you are running a low mobility low CC build.
