This is a concept that comes originally from Darkfall Online, but I think it could be better implemented here in New World, using existing systems to create open world PvP.
The concept is simple: you have to carry goods from an NPC from Point A, and deliver them to an NPC at Point B. This must be done while flagged for PvP, fast travel cannot be used, and the event takes place daily on a schedule (every 2 or 3 hours during active hours).
In New World, the NPCs can be placed in forts, and upon signing up, you will be tasked with delivering goods to another fort. Upon completion, you will receive a Trade Route Cache with excellent rewards, including a chance for epic rewards that scales on a separate Luck system (not influenced by armor or weapon luck).
The separate Luck system comes into play because you will be able to increase your Luck by collecting Luck Tokens, which are dropped by players that you kill during the event window. This will increase your chances at epic materials or items when you turn in your event cache.
If you are killed during the event, you will have to start over by picking up the goods from the original fort NPC and trying to make it to the other fort again. This must be completed within the timeframe allocated.
An additional mechanic could be that this system will run up influence on the territory for your faction which will greatly speed up the process of a system that many have criticized as being too long and boring.
The event can only be completed once per day by a player - they cannot compete in every event that day (so that we don’t have a system that becomes mandatory grind like mutators were on release).
