Improving "Mortal" Perks

Right now, it is extremely difficult to get mortal perks to activate compared to other perks. I mean, compare the two Empower perks:

Keenly Empowered: On Critical: gain 15% Empower 5s. (Cooldown 10s.)

Mortal Power: When you kill something gain 15% Empower for 5s. (5s cooldown.)

Setting aside the non-standardized phrasing, it is clear that Keenly Empowered is way easier to activate for the same effect. In any given war or OPR, you are critting hundreds of times. But killing more than 20 people is considered an exceptional accomplishment.

I think any assist within a 5 second cutoff should count toward an activation. (For skill perks like Empowering Rupture, the cutoff can be for the entirety of the skill duration, which is 10s.)

Alternatively, maybe the duration of mortal perks can be increased to reflect how much harder they are to activate?

I want to say that the mortal perks are intended for pve wherein you will have a constant empower with mortal empower assuming you can kill the mob in around 5 seconds/lifesteal/mana etc.

Yea, I thought the mortal perks were for pve.

I do agree that the perks could use a balance pass. Maybe buff the underperforming/underutilized perks. For instance, I doubt many people use the plagued perks despite them looking great on paper. They don’t do much in game, unfortunately.

it all does.

so does a lot of weapon skill perks. as well as a lot of the specific elemental ones being weak compared to how good elemental aversion will be.

but this is about mortal perks. and as much as i like the idea of getting stuff for “kills” its worthless in PvP, marginally ok in PVE as its been noted.

even if it was swapped to on knock down for pvp, they are still no better than any of the other keen type abilities for no reason. if it was double or triple duration then maybe there could be some merit to a snowball build (but thats no fun ether)

they honestly should be removed. anything that requires on kill. it will improve the perk pool anyway since its soo bloated.

Sure, if you are solo. But even in group PVE, they are extremely underpowered.

Let’s be honest. Most perks should be renamed to “Too bad. Try again.”

I do think they suck but i suppose the underlying issue with them being ‘pve’ perks is that there’s nearly no pve

But even in PVE, they are very weak perks…

I mean I dont use hatchet often but im thinking of using a mortal lifesteal for more sustain, better than lifestealing if there are numerous mobs

u need to check the pve impact of these perks
