Inadequate Scary Support

I found that I couldn’t Decorate my house after Nov 16th update. I later read that this has been suspended, but the message is not quite clear from devs, as it says you can decorate, but Build UI is disabled, which I guess means Decorate is disabled.

The agent said instructed the following:

  1. “Verify game files” in Steam, despite the game functioning correctly.
  2. After that, the next grasp for straws support was to “restart the game”. I explained that I had already restarted the game, as “verifying game files” requires quitting New World.
  3. Then UNINSTALL and REINSTALL the game. This would be a 56 GB download, as the installer will fetch files to install.

I did ask to have this escalated or talk to a manager, but this was not possible or refused. I was told that this was the last level of support, and I would have to do “basic troubleshooting” which includes a REINSTALL apparently. I also asked if this was standard recommended procedure, and apparently, it is. This is really scary.
