The way this is worded makes it sound like they are opening new servers for the free accounts, then letting people transfer to them after a certain period. This means fresh new servers.
If not, looks like we are getting more transfer tokens and more merges anyway. Here’s hoping they get server unlock/locks right this time.

I don’t think there will be new servers. “Free” players will play on current servers.

More like, they will merge the free servers into already existing servers after the free weekend.
as long as they merge 1 free server into a combination of 5 dead servers im fine with it
