Increase PVP Incentives

Yea exacatly there should be risk vs rewards, but now at lvl 60 they forgot about the reward. what do people need 10% xp for? Maybe add 10% increase in something that matters atleast.

This isn’t true at all. I don’t agree with the way he said it, but PvP players have to do pve content they aren’t excluded from it, but many would rather not do it. Pve players don’t have to do PvP. Incentive or not. For example I don’t really enjoy dungeons, but they offer some of the best gear. I am excluded from that gear if I don’t participate.

I think the word you are looking for is hypocrite.

Gotta be careful here. There are definitely specific ‘rewards’ for doing PvE/Trade Skill content.

  • Questing - Unique items from quests such as the fishing one or the crafting one in Great Cleave
  • Expeditions - Unique BoP drops, and Quests that gate further progression
  • Crafting - Unique BoP schematics
  • Gathering - Nothing BoP that comes to mind, but gotta do it if you want the mats (without buying them on the TP).

The point is this:

If you want the specific rewards from doing these activities above, you have to do the activities.

I fully support the idea that PvP should get its own unique reward that’s not obtainable outside of it. @Tomius provided some great ideas on how these could be included while mitigating the overall negative response from the PvE only community.

Wrong? How can you PvP efficient if you dont do PvE to get the best possible gear to be as efficient as possible?

Thats why i advertised in another Thread that we should get an PvP Flagged EPoI. Doesnt have to be the whole map like some suggest but something on the likes of Myrkgard. How are Elitezones Elitezones if theres literally 0 risk and just 20 grps camping elite spawns.

What do you mean wrong?

The debate here is that PvP players are forced into content they’re not interested in.
So not sure what you’re saying wrong to.

Except i’m not suggesting that pve’ers should get more for doing pve things. We’re not asking for more loot, more resources, more gold, more… anything. That’s a pvp thing. You want wpvp, that’s fine, but that does not entitle you to more or less than what pve players get. It makes as much sense as it would if i were to suggest that pvp’ers should only get pve resources from teh corpses of other pvp’ers.

But PvE’ers already get more doing PvE things than PvPers get doing PvP things…

See the imbalance?

There is nothing elitist about wanting something PvP unique when there are a bunch of PvE Unique items and crafting Unique items

So when you say it doesnt entitle me to more or less than what pve players get.

What you’re basically saying it entitles me only to less, while all we’re asking for is a balance.

If Player A is pve and Player B is pvp, They should both get the same number of resources from material nodes, npc drops and quests. Player B doesn’t deserve more for being pvp, I cannot fathom how people could possibly think otherwise.

I hope that someday Amazon gives us instanced pvp so that people can have a safe space to go kill each other with reckless abandon.

PVP encounters are dynamic, PVE encounters are predefined.
For PVP, the amount of content is equal to the frequency of encounters.
For PVE, the amount of content is only ever new dungeons.
The mismatch is infinite vs finite.
PVP players on a contentual level are more easy to satisfy than PVE players, yet they still find themselves in the minority (because PVP players dont like to self organize it seems).
PVE groups organize regularly, but it just would need a single person to create an ingame meeting of free for all PVP which strangely no one takes up to lead.

Not everything needs to be served by the game, if just you can do it on your own.
Just global this “yo guys, meet up at x and lets smash our heads”.
The amount of response you will see is the amount of actual interest of people who have the slightest interest in participating in open world PVP.

This is a thread for suggestions. Increased yield was just one suggestion - and I agree probably not the best one. Keep nodes the same for everyone, that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean there should be NO incentive for engaging in OWPvP.

It’s entirely possible to create an incentive that PvP’ers may want, that solo PvE’ers don’t care about. (e.g., titles, PvP gear, specific skins/dyes). The goal is not to piss off PvE’ers, just to create more opportunities to PvP battle outside the limited instance options.

You must be delusional if you think that the comparison is even remotely comparable there,

PvE players need to organize a 5 man group for themselves. (They ALL get rewards from this organizing in form of items) And this is a premade dungeon which… guess what? Is SERVED up by the game. Even the game gives you quests to go in there.

You’re expecting the PvP players to organize a group for themselves AND organize enemies to fight. For NO rewards,

Once again you’re making a horrible comparison that PvP players are expecting anything handed to them over the PvE players, No we’re expecting the game to be balanced between the PvP players and PvE players.

There is your flaw: expecting a reward.
PVP games ideally wouldnt have any kind of level nor item and simply rely on both choice of weapons and abilities and personal skills.
Introducing a leveling system pushes this out of balance and creates a false pretense of need, like you currently are feeling “i want because x has”.

That isn’t different for PvE players though. There are quite a lot of PvE players who hate dungeons/raids and won’t do them.

I do agree with the idea of getting a bit a of gold and/or azoth as a reward for killing another flagged player.

You’re the one that made the comparison between both.

There is no PvP content in the game and there are only penalties for flagging up.
You’re expecting PvP players to be willing to do all the work with everything against us and then you complain when we ask for more content that caters to us in anyway.

I’m not complaining about what the PvE players have nor do I want anything that is PvE specific to be in the PvP rewards. I want PvP content, since they’re against PvP servers give us something that we can go and fight out in without people instantly running back to the safe zone in settlements. Or trying to fight in the massive lagfest that they call a siege.

This whole thread is about “why does no one flag” and the answer doesnt need explaining: open world PVP is no fun, no matter what kind of reward it can offer.

We (as in I and many others) play PVP without reward just because we want to see who does outplay the other on a fair field.
We are basically throwing our money on this because we can and we want.

Everything in this game can be looked at through the same lense that you view PvP. Why should you get rewarded for killing mobs, doing dungeons, or hell, chopping trees? Well because that would be stupid if they didnt, no one would play the game. Similar to how nobody is flagging… you’re complaining that more rewards for PvP will just push people who have no desire to PvP into doing so. Well, the same is true for some of the boring, repetitive, mindless, PvE content. Why is it ok to incentivise one type of content, but not the other? Rewards for PvP is not an “elitist” point of view. However, your point of view is rather arrogant and bigoted.

No, it makes sense to get pve things for doing pve things. It doesn’t make sense to get MORE pve things for doing pvp things. Why is that so hard to grasp?

Nobody flags for world PVP because no one wants to play world PVP.
If you want to change that, you need a mindcontrolling device, nothing in any mixed mode game will ever change that.
That is as basic as it can be.
You cant change a players attitude to something with rewards, if he still considers wasting his time in trying to get those rewards.
PVP is the reward. Do it because you want the same way a PVE player does crafting because he wants to.

Gear, pots, character level, food… all of that IS PvP things from a PvPers perspective. Its obvious you are in fact hard headed. I have already made my point, so I won’t bother trying to get you to see another point of view any further. You probably already understand it anyway, but refuse to budge none the less.
