Increasing the arena Salt and XP...to be more generous

I just got 200xp 100 salt for a 3:1 loss.

I just saw this and deleted my post. So wait, they decreased the xp instead of increasing it? Maybe they made a mistake?

Thought it was 250 loss and 750 win before. Jeez, they can’t catch a break. Must have forgot to add a zero or uploaded a wrong version of the game? Can’t imagine that’s what they meant when they said generous.

Any other input? What’s a win looking like?

It was indeed 250 for a loss yesterday with 0 salt.

Going to jump back on and follow up after a win along with other w/l ratios per round.

Thanks that’s helpful. I think 500 loss and 1500 win would feel more generous and more in line with what I was assuming. Blast. :frowning:

What if. That’s the 25% values and it’s bugged?

400 800 1200 and 3000 would in fact be generous. That could be that happened.

Seems logical 25% is on in error.

Otherwise they may want to consider using another word than generous :stuck_out_tongue:

It just circles back to the ask for transparency. If we knew before hand the totals, and this was an indeed error/bug, people would feel way less bad about it. @Luxendra for clarity.

It could be a bug where it starts us on the 25% amount? It may correct itself? Initial reports are pretty disappointing…

Again, if we knew before hand, this is almost a non issue and just gets posted in bug report.

Now the optics are just worse, tbh.

100/200/300/750 are the XP values we are seeing for 0/1/2/3 round wins respectively.
(Oh and I never played enough Arena to get capped any prior day)

This is extremely disappointing and going in the wrong direction of what I thought the patch notes should be aiming towards.

To think I returned to the game because of Arena and now I don’t want to play Arena at all because I don’t have an Ace team and is therefor not worth my time.

Yeah I would hold up and see what they say. This has to be a bug. Thinking it’s possible everyone is set to 25% and it might reset at 5am tomorrow or needs a new patch.

It’s like when they made it so new accounts can’t talk in global but everyone’s account age was accidentally set to zero and we had to wait it out. Not ideal but hoping this is not what they really intended. If you multiply those numbers by 4, that seems more in line with “generous” xp.

Most likely not a bug. It would mean they literally played zero matches testing this. It was intended and they will probably backtrack on it. Its just another bad decision being compounded on. Arena are already the least efficient way to level pvp, hell forts are still faster xp if you lose the majority of your arena matches.

Literally just decrease the time to regen pvp xp/salt or remove the time gate and we can openworld pvp. Its just a time gate after time gate in this game, and even the remaining playerbase are about done with it.

Ive ganked and 1vX’d my pvp track to 50, and you know what sucks? The fact that after the first 20 minutes of pvping no one is worth any xp/salt in an area until they all regen. The other thing that sucks is having downed players snaked from you when they have fresh xp, that feels real great. Then there is the issue of factions abandoning servers and players swaping over to one faction so there is no one left to kill. Id swap servers to a currrne thigh pop as I still have 2 free tokens, but oh yeah id have to abandon my houses and repurchase them, fuck that. If my current server population dies, Im just done.

Its too many mobile game mechancis and the game trying to make you not play it at every turn that is what is going to kill this game off in its already dying state.

This is where the optics become into play and as per above post, people have a shadow hanging over them when it comes to patches/claims/fixes.

Transparency fixes a lot of this.

They also didnt fix other major problems with certain weapons. They supposedly fixed blunerbuss light attacks not doing damage after using a skill, but they did not fix the minimum distance for skills to register, so when you are right up on a pleyer it deflects them off into space doing no damae. Ive had grapple deflect and try grab a star in the sky and shrapnel after a grapple has 50% chance to deflect everytime.

Oh and then there is the exhausted state after using a gapcloser or skill while have a yellow bar of stam. Desync registering 1 dodge roll as 2 or more and dumping entire bars of stam. The updated melee tracking is bugged as well, it will target random air pockets even when your reticle is directly on the player and they are standing still.

The first day or two after the arena patch went live. The game functioned almost perfectly but after that the servers desync is so bad, its a game of predict where the opponent is actual at relative to where their character model is being displayed.

Have we learned of any confirmation of this being a bug?

They lied of course. @Luxendra gg reducing exp from 250 to 100 for loss in arena. Indeed this was ‘more generous’… You think we (players) are a joke or something?

So I just got 300xp 200 salt for a 2:3 loss.
