Ingame lag, stuttering, mini freezes

Hello everyone, this is my last resort pretty much. I have had some pretty bad stuttering, ingame lag spikes - mainly during fights vs mobs and of course in dungeons. City and roaming around seems fine-ish. No crashes or black screen though.

Here are my pc stats:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 1070
broadband 150mbps
installation on SSD

Nothing major or high end, but I was convinced it would be sufficient to play the game without too many issues. GPU is running around 69-72 degrees max, on about 90% capacity. CPU seems just fine too. These are the things I have tried so far:

  • Nvidia control panel , settings to high performance
  • Power settings to high performance
  • ingame settings low - medium - high
  • v sync enabled/disabled
  • All drivers are updated
  • CPU priority for New World
  • Microsoft Game Mode enabled/disabled
  • Hardware accelration on/off
  • all overlays (discord, steam, xbox) are disabled
  • background apps… pretty much none but steam and new world
  • RAM memory test
  • Clean install NVIDIA driver 472.12
  • Reinstall whole game

I am pretty desperate at this moment, all advice or tips are more than welcome. :frowning:

Best,

Hello @Deadbawx

I’m sorry for the inconvenience,

Lets try a couple of troubleshooting steps,

  1. Run a Steam Integrity Check (Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files) for New World.
  2. Make sure that your Windows install is fully up to date with no update pending.
  3. Reboot System.
  4. Uninstall and Reinstall New World.
  5. Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat
Also check these steps if completed just skip,
    1. Ensure your video drivers are up to date.
    2. Set Windows power settings to High Performance.
    3. Adjust your in-game video settings.
    4. Clean boot Windows to reduce startup applications/Check for Malware.
    5. Reset your video driver software to the default settings.
    6. Check for evidence of overheating.

Hope this helps!
