As we all know, New World has some troubles running smoothly in Settlements, or in places with high cluster of loaded objects in general. I may have a way of slightly remedying that. As with my previous mount idea, i’m stealing this one from another games, mainly FFXIV.
That is, instanced housing. Houses in New World are completely visible inside and out, meaning all of the objects in the house have to load in, incerasing unnecessary clutter, putting more burden on the already rather poor engine. And peoples only goal is to simply put in and out as much shit as they can so they can reach the highest Furniture Ranking, with no regards to aesthetics.
Way of alleviating a little bit of this burden might me making all housing instanced. Put some doors and fake non-see thorugh windows and you can stop loading anything that is inside, including walls, floors etc. For all intensive purposes the house can be just four walls and a roof.
Your porch and backyard will be normally visible as usual.
Whenever player wishes to enter their house, they will load into an instance which represents their house. They may also invite other people shall they wish to.
I know this isn’t much to eliminate Settlement lag, but i think that is beyond possible now and all we can do is alleviating the lag by small bits.
I am adding a picture made in MS pain to represent what i mean. (House is some random house screenshotted in Monarch’s Bluffs, server Barri. If you recognize your crib, i’m sorry.
