INT users severely shafted by mutations

on our server we boost people thru Mutators if they cant past that treshold from m3 to m6 and even from enemy factions…

We are trying to speed up the process of this nonsense grind so ppl are back to OPR :smiley:

I mean that was the only actual part we struggled on. It was just the perfect storm of mutators and we were not all perfectly 606 gs but everything else went smooth.

Yo i’d play opr if someone gave me a boost to m6 so i can get the shards i needed finally and be done with it for now. Bless your soul thats a very nice thing to do.

Different servers have different mutation modifiers apparently. it’s void on mine.

For us everything with Eternal gives the enemy monsters Void damage and Void resistance.

While it may not be worth it now, it’s the same as going from 614-616 - so once you get there, it won’t be a problem to improve your 598 gear.

None of this of course, is meant discredit you needing better mage drops.

Which would get you all the way to M6 at a 614GS average. Which places you past the halfway mark before those expensive upgrades kick in.

Where if someone has all 595 gear and they want to run mutations, they would be stuck in say M2 for what 60x6 runs to complete 1 upgrade just to 595-600. Knocking a run or two off if they are closer to 599. That is a lot of wasted umbral on an item that will never be great, just good. After spending 300 Umbral on an Epic, it will be bitter sweet when the next run drops you a Legendary for that slot.

Naturally in those runs they might find a weapon or some jewelry, armor since it is so RNG heavy likely you won’t get what your looking for, but possibly could get something “good enough”.

All i’m saying is the 595-599 stop gap is a huge hurdle that does nothing but salvage every epic in the game aside from a very… very… select few.

Its just sad how everyone is happy with their dungeon legendaries and then its me trying to be mage and thinking how to get armoring trophies to craft my own jewelery :smiley:

While I sympathize with your lack of named bling, ask your tank how they feel about rolling for shields at the same cost as jewelry plus some leather and wood thrown on top.

It is painful. Why can Kind even appear on a shield? They don’t really think that anyone dps’s sword and board do they?

The issue is that mutators seem to dictate your damage imput and output entirely based off of your GS. Which means that no matter how good your perks are, if you are below the threshold for that mutator level, you hit like a wet noodle/get bitch slapped into oblivion

Focus doesn’t have VB armor either but not sure I’d wear it even if it did.

Have had idk how many convos with mages on my server about this problem but I think it needs to be separated into two parts; mages not having BiS items from expeditions, and 590+ gear being near worthless in higher mutations (4+), even with 2 BiS perks (for no reason other than GS).

I don’t know what the solution is for the mutation / GS scaling problem but the BiS mage items is obvious - add some to the game. Unfortunately I think it’ll be long dead by the time that happens.

I’m sure we’ll be seeing all white (common) runs for fun on Youtube very soon. The only stat that makes any difference at all is GS. If at or above the recommended you might as well be running normal laz with a few extra perks
