Intentionally creating a named piece of equipment grants incorrect achievement

  • What is your character name in New World: LMHansen
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Adlivun
  • Describe issue:
    Minor bug.

When crafting one of the named weapons, you are granted the “Accidentally created a named [Weapon Type]” achievement.

I have tested this with “Bloodright” (spear) and “Sapling Brand” (sword). In both instances, I got the “accidentally created a named spear/sword” achievement.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Gather all the materials for weapon.
  2. Craft a named weapon.

That’s what’s meant to happen is it not?

It’s not really “accidental” if you set out to craft the item with that name. I have previously crafted “regular” bows that have accidentally gotten the requirements for a named item, and gotten the achievement for that.

So I think it’s either a) poorly named achievement or b) granted in error when intentionally crafting the named item.

Op is right, there are named weapons you can craft when creating basic weapons like iron muskets, swords, ect. I’ve gotten the achievement myself when crafting keen temper which was a part of a quest and not one of these accidental “named weapons”.
