This bug has happened to me 2-3 times already. My language on windows is set to English. I tried restarting the game, it did not fix the issue. I don’t know what triggers this (I did not change the key binding in the options) nor what fixes it since consecutive gameplay can suddenly look alright again.
Attached screenshot showing this on combat keys, but the same goes for other things. for example, when interacting with an object, instead of showing E the square is empty.
