Describe the issue you are experiencing: Improper corruption rank causing an earlier than scheduled invasion.
Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
(if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Causing an earlier than scheduled invasion will cause our town in cutlass to be down graded even further than expected while still recovering from the recent invasion downgrades.
(if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No
(if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Wrongly timed Invasion
Why am I not surprised something else is now broken. You also shut down the economy and prohibited anyone from upgrading their town for almost 2 days but you still let invasions go ahead. You didn’t put any pause or compensation in for all the companies struggling to make enough money to pay the town taxes because Cutlass is so far out of the way, no one wants to go there.
So now this company has lost 4 town / fort upgrades only days ago in what felt to be an unwinnable invasion, was unable to get stuck back in to recovering the city for 2 days due to your devs ONLY freezing the economy and now has another invasion on their doorstep. Owning a town is feeling anything but fun and exciting right now.
The frequency and intensity of corruption invasions are starting to make this game feel like a chore. We put so much time and effort into fundraising for upgrades so that other players can enjoy the production benefits (which are key to the end game AND the economy) and yet before we can even recover from the last invasion, we are subject to another that is pushing us back further and further. It’s disheartening and disappointing.
In addition, we are seeing fewer sign-ups for wars and invasions across all companies, I assume this is because people are simply exhausted by how difficult these are made by broken systems such as the AOE exploit from last week and the hatchet damage exploit from this week. Our faction lost territory last night that the Marauders have fought tooth and nail for since the game launched and this was largely due to the enemy army using only hatchets. I want to keep playing New World, I want to keep enjoying the politics and territory management but I don’t have 24 hours a day to commit to fundraising to keep up with the numerous knock backs we experience week to week.
We’ve just learned that we also can’t even sign up for this invasion…they’re practically (if not literally) unwinnable at the best of times but it’s going to be even more difficult if we don’t even have the opportunity to show up…
I really enjoy getting around and fighting back the corruption to hold these off, and with this sort of bug it just rips the fun out of that aspect as it becomes completely untennable.
Not to mention as @Hatchetnklank has stated, trying to upkeep a town under constant onslought of invasion is near impossible.
I mean that raises a whole new point as well Strom. What is the point of engaging in the world based corruption if it has no bearing on the frequency or intensity of the invasion. If we fight back this corruption, invasions should not happen as frequently and if we successfully take down the major corruption nodes, this should lower the intensity of the invasions. It feels like a very useless inclusion to the game if there is no direct benefit for doing them.
Its not recommended to upgrade your stations too high until invasions are more easier. most servers tend to split the earnings to company upgrades and investments for better gear.
yeah it really is. its pretty decent slow without a tier yet but one it just hits the first it gets a little annoying and when its 2 its too annoying to honestly care for from its spawn rate is just madly annoying for a company to deal with.
It doesn’t really matter what tier the stations are being upgraded to, it’s still a money sink when you upgrade a station one day just to have it knocked down the next in a territory that is lower-income anyway due to its location. We’re in Cutlass Keys and a vast majority of our income is from donations within our company alone. Even if we wanted to upgrade them to exceedingly high tiers while the invasions are so difficult to defeat, it’s impossible to fund.
If Invasion damage was tied to town income, it’d actually create a great game balance dynamic. The Everfalls and WW with high incomes and high end crafting stations would take greater damage from a loss. Those outlying towns such as Cutless Keys, would take lesser damage from a loss.
What would be created is a global economy balance. As it cycles the high end crafting/refining station opportunities amongst all the cities.
As Evefall/WW recover it presents an an opportunity for (in this example) Cutless Keys to becoming a primary refining/crafting town.
This is a really good point! They definitely need to do more about balancing the disparity between central and outlying territories. I know they have said recently that they have plans to do this, though they haven’t detailed how they intend on doing so. Hopefully, it will incorporate invasions/wars as you’ve mentioned.
Bumping this because it was posted 12 hours ago and we are counting down to an invasion that no one can sign up for and shouldn’t be on the cards in the first place. Please get something done about this asap before we put even further behind than your decisions have already put us.
