Invasion Won! Rewards disappointing :(

Our server Duguang won Invasion for the first time thanks to the great efforts of everyone figuring this puzzle out, brilliant callers and organizers. It brought the whole server and players across all factions together and made the game all in all more friendly and enjoyable - and will continue to do so I hope.

Although, the rewards for participants in a won invasion are pretty disappointing.
720 Coins and 400 Azoth on a WIN?!
(that’s a measly 100 coins and 80 azoth more than on a loss)
Of course, the territory is saved from downgrades which bring economic benefits…yay…(but NOT from the corrupted…they continue to spawn portals at max spawn rate btw)

What didn’t we all do for this? The trophies, the coatings, the honing stones, the levelling, the perfect loadouts, not even speaking of all manhours in coordination efforts and sciencing. A win should be way more rewarding. I suggest double of a loss, so 1240 Coins, 640 Azoth (and maybe even a chest that is at least 10 levels above the players watermark)

Furthermore, I think rewards should start from like 300 and go up with every beaten round. Rewards should not necessarily scale with ranking because there are jobs that are not rewarded in the ranking system but are vital to beating invasion. The rank is not important, it just adds incentive to be better.

You gave us a hard task - a proper reward is to be expected. Pls adjust the rewards.

Thank you

Don’t you get a higher tier reward cache too?

Congrats guys!!! That sounds so much fun to be part of a win.

Naturally I support your thread for more rewards. +1

the invasion as they are now are put in to be an economy reset , nothing else . but you wont get any dev or cm to admit that.

The no downgrades thing is the big reward!

Yep, slow down progress as much as possible, hide it as “challenging content”

No downgrades is cool and all but the money that it cost in downgrades to reupgrade is pretty much equal to the upkeep cost for the town.

But that there is not fun, is not enough

This thread is not about how it came to be this hard. If the most fun content was a happy accident, so be it. Like cornflakes. Many people care about having cornflakes, not many people care about why there are cornflakes.

The reward for participating is good enough to get people to join invasions. But it needs a significantly larger reward for winning to get people to put all their effort into it.

That being said. They need to put more effort into the design of invasions.
For example. The back side of the forts is poorly designed. There is the big keep tower that ruins angles for seige and ranged on the walls. It also makes it difficult to get from one side of the fort to the other.
The back gates have very bad coverage from the walls. Ranged have to go onto those shitty towers so that they have an angle to attack bosses at the back gates. The seige also have no angles covering the back gates.

oof, don’t get me started about the towers. they are a good idea, although that handrail thing pretty much makes it unusable since it’s almost impossible to use shooters stance with a musket and it also blocks shots for close-down targets for musket and bow. some collision boxes on the walls are also super jank. All of that should be addressed in a separate topic (In a quick search I have not found an open topic but I’m sure we are not the first pointing out these things).

That’s quite interesting. This makes the benefits of a successful invasion even less visible. All it means right now is the territory being a little ahead of the curve. It shows that this needs some tuning left right and center.

@Hank_Houdini

First of all, congrats on the win.
I concur with a lot of the OP’s thoughts on better rewards… or even rewards as an inverse function of a trailing win/loss rate.

If a server hasn’t had a win in awhile they rewards should be high, but once they become routine, scale them down.

Every time I look at the back of the fort I start screaming MACHICOLATIONS!

I’ve made multiple posts but Invasions are way too over scaled for the reward and intention of the content. It’s pretty asinine.

Invasions are a mechanism to downgrade settlements, so that owning companies can continue to spend coin to upgrade stations and create board missions.
I don’t think this event was meant to be something you can complete.
If every company would win invasions, there would be no more board missions and less of a coin sink for companies which already earn too much coin.

Moonkez, who is from my server and part of the governing party of the territory that won the invasion pointed this out:

And for a little update: the invasion has been won again in the same territory, back to back! wish I had been there. Very proud of my server  Other territories are getting closer to a win with increasingly only seconds remaining.

Agree!

If you are a part of the company that owns the town, if not let’s be honnest …you don’t really care.
