Invasions sometimes require a relog to get inputs to work correctly

  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Castle of Steel
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Randomly, some users will experience an issue where they are unable to move after accepting an invasion invitation and loading in. Half of the time, this is a weird issue where you are typing, but it isn’t showing you the chat box. This is easily resolved by pressing Escape or hitting enter. The other half of time, you can attempt to fire your weapon, use consumables, move around, and any other interaction and it won’t work. The only solution we’ve found is to relog. It usually happens to a person or two per invasion, but I’ve personally gotten it only twice and only recorded it once. This is obviously imperfect. I’m including the video, but I realized afterwards that task manager was covering my weapons. :frowning:

  • (if a bug) How did the issue affect your gameplay: Makes it harder to get everyone in an invasion. Not everyone knows you have to relog, even then so, on slower computers, not everyone can relog fast enough, getting them kicked out of the invasion through no fault of their own.
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Yes, relogging does fix the issue as mentioned above.

(as stated above, I realize that task manager was covering a lot during this video, but imagine that I was constantly trying to switch weapons and trying to move around. Towards the middle of the video, I try trading another member to see what I can actually do. Trading seems to work fine. I then relog and everything is fine.)

  1. Accept invasion invite.
  2. Realize you cannot move at all. I’m unsure of what other factors could be impacting this at the moment.
