Iron man server

Oh I know which is why there is 0 point in wasting time and resources on something like this vs focusing on the actual servers

mmo’s are niche already, a pvp mmo is even more niche, but a new world pvp server where everyone has to grind a new character and lose their inventory on death… yeah i don’t think that would pull in anywhere close to 10k-20k players

Ags should have just made a battle royale if they wanted pvp to be the focus

30 servers that have more players than your non-existent server?

Why not just allow people to create iron man accounts where you are not allowed to trade with other players? Other more hardcore things could include no storage allowed.

You could then Introduce extreme iron man where if you die, it’s permanent or it removes the iron man status entirely and the iron man status cannot be recovered, but you get to keep the account as a normal account?

Those are some fun ways for people to make multiple accounts, especially in games that are not class restricted where making multiple accounts is more common. Something to consider.

A whole server just seems like a bad idea.

Iron …MAN??
That’s not all inclusive, I need a safe space!

For everyone worried about a mega company will just take over the server, what’s preventing them from taking over current live servers?
Most active pvp servers have decently balanced maps and pvp companies actually like challenges, like ive known of some to get their 100 man company to faction swap to an underdog to balance the server.
Not like their entire faction is gonna lock you out of playing the game.
Full inventory loot isnt even that bad, what do you have in your inventory most of the time, thats also not bound to you or equipped? Trash gear, consumables or gatherable resources.
Did you forget you can make shorter gathering trips?, Did you forget you’ll have storages in towns that they can’t touch? Did you forget you also can get your own faction friends?
I also put in there when you choose your faction you’ll be permanently flagged with the exception of towns and expeditions.
I’ve seen people reach level 60 without doing the main questline that forces you to choose a faction.
AGS could even make that part into a side quest so people can get their azoth staff without choosing a faction.

The camps we place in the world should be destroyable too, like in Aion Obelisk. Otherwise, thy spawn zerg you non-stop… It is another feature I don’t like in New World really.

That’s not a bad idea, but instead of just attacking the tents for them to be destroyed, maybe have a powder keg able to be planted to destroy them. Then make the powder kegs able to purchased from the faction shop with tokens. Then give Camps a 5 minute cooldown to be placed again once their current active camp is destroyed. This way it’s more of a preemptive planning, and if the kegs work like in OPR, then people could technically defend their camps as well.

I agree! Give them the server so it can die quickly and we never have to hear from the pvp community about this again.

First of all, I did say earlier that I would agree to have a PvP Server. Just not full Loot PvP. Maybe you missed it idk. Furthermore concerning full loot pvp, I said that it doesn´t attract the same masses as a themepark MMORPGs which is objectively true. You mentioned Rust which is a Survival-MMO and has a healthy playerbase. Nonetheless it doesn`t have as much players as other established MMORPGs that are themepark oriented and Rust is one of the best Survival games out there so yes I will compare it to the best MMO themeparks. I was around when the original New World Game was announced, but why would anyone play anything like Rust (a much more shallow version), when they can play Rust instead?

I didn´t say full loot PvP games always fail, they are just not as attractive as other types of games and this is why New World abandoned the idea of full loot and attracted a bigger crowd. The reason New World lost that many players because the development took a 180-turn and tried to put PvE in the game with very little time at hand. That led to little end game content and stuff to do.

You can’t craft orbs or bags unless you are part of a faction…

That you can only use the warehouses of your alliance to move products

So which would be better? New world to be a little niche and have a player base comparable to rust or this dead husk we have now? I know what I’d rather play.

They have years more work before this game is in the same state as wow or final fantasy. I don’t think it will ever get there. Hell they still only like 4 different mobs … The game died because of the direction change. Worst mistake in recent gaming history and the biggest dropped ball that I’ve ever been a part of.

This idea would save new world. Why would people play this over rust? Because it’s swords and magic not guns. That was the whole hype around this game. The person who was in the lead and made this change is hopefully no longer employed.

You are wrong. Competition is what drives most to play this game. Adding a system to the game where death matters is vital.

Game called renown being developed, literally medieval rust.

They absolutely must change the war system if they make fresh servers. Make it company based is option. But they absolutely have to stop these same 20 people who are in every single war. I have some ideas on how they could do this and I’ve made a post here about it a few days ago. Just a quick tldr from that post are limiting those you can invite to faction (company only would be better) only creating a system of diminishing returns for those who own territory and out right punish any company that owns more than 2.

Point is it could be done and done quickly of they would stop trying to focus on this bullshit they keep introducing. No one wanted instruments. No one wanted another dungeon full of nothing but reskins. Why the hell is there an angry earth tentacle in a lost dungeon??? Lazy and incompetent development that’s why. No one is coming back for this. There’s a good reason why war is by far the most enjoyed game mode.

You’re the MVP

But from a monetary point of view pvp mmo’s are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to making money. This is why they decided to go with a more pve/theme park focused game even if its still lacking in those areas

casuals are the ones driving mmo’s
