Iron man server

First of all, I did say earlier that I would agree to have a PvP Server. Just not full Loot PvP. Maybe you missed it idk. Furthermore concerning full loot pvp, I said that it doesn´t attract the same masses as a themepark MMORPGs which is objectively true. You mentioned Rust which is a Survival-MMO and has a healthy playerbase. Nonetheless it doesn`t have as much players as other established MMORPGs that are themepark oriented and Rust is one of the best Survival games out there so yes I will compare it to the best MMO themeparks. I was around when the original New World Game was announced, but why would anyone play anything like Rust (a much more shallow version), when they can play Rust instead?

I didn´t say full loot PvP games always fail, they are just not as attractive as other types of games and this is why New World abandoned the idea of full loot and attracted a bigger crowd. The reason New World lost that many players because the development took a 180-turn and tried to put PvE in the game with very little time at hand. That led to little end game content and stuff to do.

You can’t craft orbs or bags unless you are part of a faction…

That you can only use the warehouses of your alliance to move products

So which would be better? New world to be a little niche and have a player base comparable to rust or this dead husk we have now? I know what I’d rather play.

They have years more work before this game is in the same state as wow or final fantasy. I don’t think it will ever get there. Hell they still only like 4 different mobs … The game died because of the direction change. Worst mistake in recent gaming history and the biggest dropped ball that I’ve ever been a part of.

This idea would save new world. Why would people play this over rust? Because it’s swords and magic not guns. That was the whole hype around this game. The person who was in the lead and made this change is hopefully no longer employed.

You are wrong. Competition is what drives most to play this game. Adding a system to the game where death matters is vital.

Game called renown being developed, literally medieval rust.

They absolutely must change the war system if they make fresh servers. Make it company based is option. But they absolutely have to stop these same 20 people who are in every single war. I have some ideas on how they could do this and I’ve made a post here about it a few days ago. Just a quick tldr from that post are limiting those you can invite to faction (company only would be better) only creating a system of diminishing returns for those who own territory and out right punish any company that owns more than 2.

Point is it could be done and done quickly of they would stop trying to focus on this bullshit they keep introducing. No one wanted instruments. No one wanted another dungeon full of nothing but reskins. Why the hell is there an angry earth tentacle in a lost dungeon??? Lazy and incompetent development that’s why. No one is coming back for this. There’s a good reason why war is by far the most enjoyed game mode.

You’re the MVP

But from a monetary point of view pvp mmo’s are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to making money. This is why they decided to go with a more pve/theme park focused game even if its still lacking in those areas

casuals are the ones driving mmo’s

I don’t think you’re right here either. I’ll continue pointing to rust. They are constantly up at the top for skin sales on steam. I’m willing to bet Conan makes more money than new world right now

Casuals don’t drive anything. Hardcore committed players are the driving factor behind every successful MMO on the market. All those casuals in wow stuck around in part because they admired the good players. There is nothing to aspire to in this game.

When I seen a guy walk through org decked out in warlord gear or onixia or molten sets it gave me drive to get to where he is.

Make it a real ironman server with perma death and I’d play on it till I died of course. Full pvp full loot drop (bound items just get deleted along with you) One life pvp would be amazing.

This conversation is just turning into a subjective circle jerk so i’ll just leave it at that but you can point to Rust and Conan Exiles all you want. These games aren’t massively popular either regardless of skin sales, they are niche pvp games and they aren’t main stream. Facepunch and the Conan dev do probably make money but it’s not a fraction of what casual games make, not even close.

If you really think casuals don’t drive anything just go look at the financial reports of these game companies and you can see for yourself why Candy Crush, Roblox, Pokemon Go are all making billions where Rust makes millions.

You’re comparing predatory micro transaction mobile games to a game that is literally playable entirely free after purchase. I haven’t seen someone reach so far to try and be right since Kathy Newman interviewed Jordan Peterson. I don’t call those who spend money on candy crush or raid shadow legends casual, I call them ignorant for letting a company manipulate them into spending thousands on nothing you fit right in.

I’d play it for sure. Even though I still enjoy the game for what it is. The dupes have always left a sore taste in my mouth.

I played Mordred for years on DAoC and was the most fun I’ve ever had in an mmo. A pure PvP focused server would be great

This or something very similar would get my entire guild of 80+ people who haven’t played in 200 days on average back into the game, the launch experience coupled with some of these new gameplay rules would be probably the most fun an MMO would be for me in years, I nor my entire guild cant be alone in this thought

Ark Survival Evolved is actually doing quite well. Better than New world lol
New World isnt full loot and look how well its doing.

There really is no harm in creating a single world per server like that. IF you don’t want to play it, you dont have to.

Your old

Ark is doing well because you can customize servers to be what your community wants them to be. I know because my group hosted a fast build fast tame/breed server for quite some time. Was like a pvp Minecraft in a lot of cases.

Also, who is psyched for ark 2
