Iron Ore/Hemp for crafting

I wanted to talk about how much lower tier resources like Iron Ore and Hemp are required for crafting the higher tier resources.

I believe the current formula requires far too much lower tier resources in general, and on top of that, the lower tier resources get scarcer at higher level zones. Therefore you will see many higher lvl 40-60 players, who are camping and fighting other newer players for every scrap of Iron Ore and Hemp they can find, in these lower level zones.

I think the amount of lower tier resources required should be reduced by 25% or more overall, and more spawn locations for Iron Ore/Hemp provided throughout the higher level zones. I am talking about a lot more scattered throughout the New World, because you generally only see the higher tier resources as you progress through the zones.
There is also the option to remove requiring Iron/Steel Ingots altogether from Star Ingot tiers and above, which would fix the whole situation, but maybe developers don’t want to go that far.

What does everyone think about this?
I know there are small pockets of lower tier resource spawns in higher level zones, but with the amount you require for crafting, it is no where near enough, I personally spend entire gaming sessions fighting for these spots all day.

I think resources gained by lower level players always being useful is a good thing. It gives them the option to sell them into a market where there is actually demand if they do not plan to use them themselves.

Its kinda silly yeah but because of how the system works all resources from all level ranges will be required. It keeps all the zones alive and the economy going…which im taking advantage of lol

I prefer a system where ores are scattered throughout territories while plants are limited to specific biomes. But that’s simply because I like the organic feeling as opposed to some games where resources are meant to correspond to the level of the zone they’re in.

It doesn’t, there needs to be effort involved to craft gear. Also, if you need help learning how to gather and craft in sufficient quantities I highly recommend my stream from last night that dealt with gathering and crafting.

solution, we need more zones

This is a good feature of the game and 6 months from now it allows new players and low play time to contribute to the overall economy

I think it’s good for low level players to make money selling their abundant resources to high level players.

MY only fear is that this is easily abused by bots, but every game is i just hope they have a solid strat to counter the bots.

The idea here was like EVE or Albion in linking things together so that low level materials remain relevant as the game goes forward. It could be tweaked in terms of the amounts required, but in general it’s a good setup for a game like this.

If they made all resources available everywhere, what reasons would players have to visit other zones? The way it’s set up makes sense so you aren’t locked into a single settlement to harvest and craft and such, it promotes exploring and using other settlements so they can get taxes and such for settlement usage.

As for seeing level 40-60 characters in lower level zones, so what? There is a bit of scaling in pvp, so if higher level characters that are flagged are abusing the node spots by killin players, get a buddy and kill him. It’s very possible for 2-3 low level players to kill a max level.
