I really feel like these should be instanced and not global. Its very difficult to find ironwood trees or orichalcum nodes on my server after merges filled it up. I would like to be able to mine more and level crafting up. As is there is always someone camping the nodes and it is hard to get the resources you need without buying them. And I feel that no one should be forced to buy the minerals in an rpg game. They should be allowed to go out and mine them if they want to spend the time to do so.
This has been brought up many times and we see the same old āwe value your feedbackā and āI will take this to the devsā numerous times. Lets just face the facts that AGS hates crafters and wants them all to leave their games.
We talk about this all the time, I think it would be fine if they did this. Crafting needs to more viable, as prices rise - the barrier to entry is too high. This change would help drastically.
As mentioned above, we DO value your feedback and HAVE brought it up to the devs. Itās not that we or they donāt care about crafters, it may just be something low on their priority level currently.
Iām happy to make note and bring it up Monday again, to reinforce this is still something players are interested in or atleast knowing more about.
Thanks for the response. Crafting and gathering is one the the strong points of New World compared to other games. It still needs some work, but I feel this game does it better than most. So its something I hope keeps getting support and improving.
Donāt instance nodes! Botting will be out of control if you do and the markets will be FLOODED with top tier gear. Crafting will become virtually meaningless as the cost of timeless shards/craft mods will also skyrocket.
Add additional areas, they donāt need to contain towns or any new assets. Just PvP only islands with resources always āguardedā by PvE.
We DO NOT want instanced resource nodes. That way market is going to be flooded because bots will have easy routes FULL of resources. IF this is on the table, bots must be dealt with first.

It would be heaven for bots too of course and thatās not ideal. but personally I have seen alot less bots lately.
I donāt see this change effecting end game gear rolling too much. Altho some statistics on how many people skip their Asmo/Phoenix/runic Leather cooldown pr day due to a lack of resources would be interesting to know⦠More Orichalcum in the world shouldnāt equal and endless amount of Asmodeum and suddenly make it worthless thanks to its crafting cooldown. But it would allow anyone who wanted to get their skills up to 200 ![]()
Reducing the amount of ore needed pr ingot could be another way.
Or have each resource node give you more resources when gathered. Altho with either of those two suggestions I can see the crafting reagents (Flux,Sandpaper, Solvent etc) quickly becoming an issue ^^
Honestly, they would need some kind of system like BDO Imperial Crafting system in order to take some of that crap out of the economy if they made resource nodes private and/or some kind of spoilage system.
I do not know where you got this data, but the PTR datamine does not show anything of the sort.

Those are values in PTR files? Any other resource is lower?
you realize what youre saying right? its unfair that someone is spending their hours to camp a node you want to camp so you dont have to contribute to the economy of the server⦠so what your suggesting is instanced nodes so you can craft and sell what you dont need, but if you do that there wont be an economy to sell in. and for those suggesting pvp only islands for nodes⦠i suppose you dont give 2 craps about pve players with no interest in pvp that want to mine and craft because that would what⦠deprive you of the chance to gank someone and steal their ore they spent an hour mining so you dont have too? or just so the fighting gets so thick no one gets the resources?
They could control it by not allowing you to gather from at node but once a day. If a crafter needs more than that can purchase it off the trader. Sorta like selling your cooldowns.
Other than all of the wood and ore in OPR being basically one shots now, not that I saw.
A one-world system would fix this as well ![]()
Weve been asking for this since the game launched. on my server which as about 1200-1500 people on it depending on the day an what not, the materials are almost impossible to go an collect yourself, and to buy them off the market the prices are absurd. Orichalcum ORE is up to like 4 gold EACH. thats insane. the cost to make enough orichalcum ingots to do your asmodeum cooldowns is just way to much to make it even remotely close to worth doing. I havent done my cooldowns aside from phoenixweave in i dont even know how long. I hope they one day change how to the crafting and gathering works. its one of the worst aspects of the game for me.
I really enjoy the fact that the nodes are a part of the world itself. Please donāt turn new world into another instance simulator that the rest of MMOs seem to have just embraced.
Making them all personalized feels like it takes the value away from the players, even though I know many wished for it, the cost I feel would be too great.
That people have to spend hours camping nodes to get their resources is an example of the problem. I dont want anyone to have to camp nodes. I think everyone should be able to go out and mine as much as they want. Its a game and these players are spending their precious time choosing to farm. Gathering and crafting is a core part of the gameās mechanics and experience. Players like myself who would like to participate in that part of the game cannot do so due to the lack of available resources. Being forced to buy your resources to play the game from the marketplace because they are not available in the open world is not contributing to the economy. Its being held hostage by a flaw in the design of the game.
Instancing the nodes so that every player can access the resources they want to spend their time farming is the best solution in my opinion. Making the respawn times shorter will not fix this problem in my opinion. Players are not going to stop camping resources or fighting over them, just because they spawn faster. In fact I believe it will have the opposite effect. They will do it more and the situation will get worse, as the rewards are now better. Players will still not be able to harvest the resources. Instancing the nodes is the only way that everyone who wants to tradeskill will get to do so.
You telling me the making the amount of resources you get when you harvest smaller, ARE THEY COMPLETLY STUPID.
