About Bots
Most people agree on a 24hs cool down for T5 nodes, so that would actually help with the bot problem. They would log in mine a few nodes and that’s it.
About Punishing the Community
According to MapGenie, there is 205 Ori nodes in NW. That’s more than 3k ores daily, plenty for most players. If you are an avid miner, you could also go for the 317 starmetal. I really can’t see how this will hurt the players, you’ll just need to change your mining routine. Instead of spending hours on the same place, you’ll have to spend hours running all over the place. Personally I think it’s a better experience, but I’m open to critics here.
About ruining the economy
On my server, I’m able to sell water and green wood (normally 0,3 ea). These are literally infinite resources and requires nothing to gather. Yet, people still buy them. Economy in games normally revolves around gold per hour of an activity. It doesn’t matter how abundant a material is, their price will be regulated by the amount of time it takes to gather them.
And that, for me, is the biggest “problem” with instanced nodes. It will equalize the prices of all materials. Iron/Starmetal/Ori will probably have the same value, if they can be gathered in roughly the same time. It could even become like before, when T1 materials costed more than the T5 ones, because you need a bigger amount of them.
Overall, I would still prefer instanced nodes. I would love to go to Mines with my friends to mine together. But I agree that it would make the economy more stale and the game feel less immersive.
