Is it possible to instance the resource nodes?

i would love to see your numbers that allow you to speak for most people… or did you mean “most of my friends agree”? well thats not surprising that your friends would agree with you, thats what friends do. there are interactive maps for petes sake that allow you map out routes to and through every node in every region that has been reported to exist. and if you think claiming to have knowledge of what will happen based on what you do on your server? heck i cant claim that, i can only speak with experience that in a competitive style as it is currently… players can make money by providing the resources on the market, if you instance the resources you take that away from those folks. because suddenly iron is worth .3 each and woah would you look at that? star metal is worth .3. its the law of economics. you make claims about economies based on gold per hour… yeah maybe for the hard core gamers but the other gamers that want to make that 20k to buy a house in the third town… now have to work 500 times as hard to earn enough gold to buy that house because guess what? your instancing of nodes has killed the market on the server. i wont say it will happen on every server, but i would guess from experience, it will kill the market on a majority of them.

instancing nodes, simply put, its for those that dont want to find a way to put in the effort to get their resources. dont like how it operates on city of steel because too many miners are there? transfer to a different server with a smaller population. hell, orun and a couple others would probably love to have you. if you just love mining and gathering? go onto the spanish server, only like 150 people there at peak times, PLENTY of resources to be had if thats your gig. but dont, and i sincerely beg you folks and ags, DONT instance the nodes. the market dies and i dont give the game a month before its down to one server per region, and maybe… MAYBE a month after that they announce they are shutting off the servers.

Blah Blah Blah Blah. Everyone has the same doom and gloom outcome predicted for every change they don’t like. The only change that would actually accomplish that outcome is the whole “lets wipe the game clean and restart.” Well that and probably a change to force PvP on everyone (since there is a large crowd that wants nothing to do with it…).

these are your examples of putting in effort?

leaving your server your friends your company?

seriously?

you honestly could of thrown in quit your job play only at 3 in the morning to farm.

or even divorce your significant other, play vijia games all day and all night.

just because you dont agree with the options, and they are valid options, doesnt mean you need to go off the rails. you have your beliefs and maybe or maybe not based in experience… i have my beliefs that i know are based in my experience. so it is what it is. i had another thread where i spoke from experience and a few folks did what your are doing, refusing to understand that both sides have a point and youre trying to just call me stupid without saying the words. but guess what… the other topic of conversation … my claims based on my experience in new world and mmos in general… it came true and no amount of silliness can change those facts.

will what i say come true? maybe or maybe not but my belief is that they will and those that argue for instancing the nodes have options other than what i believe will happen if they instance nodes.

i wont sit here and use phrases like… “most of the players…” or “all pve’ers…” i speak for ME and i speak from MY experience. you have your opinion and thats great, guess we just wait and see what happens.

you just went off saying people that want instanced nodes are people that arent trying hard enough up to and including leaving the server.

im simply calling you out on this. the silliness is meant to be humor. not specifically for you but for anyone else realizing the insanity of your position.

to say anyone that wants instanced nodes should just leave their server their company their friends everything to go to a low pop server to farm

like the hell?

I’m not sure it’s the instancing, I think it’s the RNG to crafting and the salvaging or throwing out of thousands of useless items to get to where you need to be to make the items you need wear.

When it’s more profitable (by a lot) to sell raw materials than even common consumables, there’s no market to be competitive over or any way to make crafting a reasonable gold maker. I’m sure many non-crafter players would love to just buy a stack of food (or tinctures or coatings or honing stones) and go do what they enjoy instead of grinding craft skills.

Even with longer cooldowns, gold farming bots will simply harvest everything in an area instead of focusing on one type of item.

Well, lets see how this changes things, they added more ori node spawns on PTR and cut respawns in half…

My bad here, bad wording. Should’ve said “most people who want instanced nodes agree on a 24h cool down”

I was just using an example. Yeah, it is anecdotal evidence, but if you have a better explanation on why is possible to sell water in some servers, I’m interested in listening.

As I said, in most cases, prices for things in games are normally bound by the amount of time it requires to gather them. Yeah, prices for Ori will plummet with instanced nodes, but you’ll be able to gather a lot more. So, overall, your gold per hour should be the same.

Except if you currently mine exclusively on off peak hours, than your yield is above average for the server and you make more money. For these off peak players, the instanced node thing will indeed reduce your overall income. So an argument you could use here is: “I can’t play on peak hours, so I can’t play on wars/invasions and have a hard time finding groups for expeditions/OPR, so I like the fact at least I have advantage on gathering to balance things out a bit”. Honestly, I think is a good argument.

I also think this node scarcity we have today is probably something that was created when the game was a survival PvP. The idea was that players had to fight for resources. It’s a cool idea on paper but never worked out.

So is up to AGS to decide whether they implement something that will “reduce the friction” of the majority of players who play on “normal” hours, or keep this node thing to help out the off peak players.

i just wanted to say its refreshing to have an actual civil conversation with someone. i want to thank you for that, even though we wont agree on the result it is nice to be able to just talk without insults being thrown around.

But… materials for basic needs are not rare, unless you think that the best items in the game are “basic needs”, because that’s what you need things like ori to make.

It’s bots.

they are rare because they are scarce and highly contended.

and while it may not be a problem for a low pop or medium pop server, its clear the intended group size is around 1500 to 2000 players on a high pop server which absolutely have a scarcity issue.

even the most basic needs aka purples with 2 perks still needs asmo are you telling me you are running mutated dungeons with ori crafted sub 590 gear?

no clearlly not.

everyone 60+ needs 590+ gear purple gold or what not.

only way to achieve that is with asmo which needs ori

mean while ori ammo and arrows need ori as well a very common consumable

so no. its pretty fuckin basic.

I’m telling you that 600 GS epic gear is end game gear and not meant to be “basic” and overly easy to obtain.

Consider the situation in most other MMOs where the best gear generally comes from big raids and such. Do you just expect to easily obtain those pieces? It’s the same for crafted gear here because crafted gear is supposed to be the top of the line.

so what. this isnt other mmos this is new world

an mmo that doesn’t even have big raids

the closest you can get to a big raid is mutations which absolutely requires a base line purple 590 gear

and its only being generated through the horrible crafting system.

you might have a point about upgrading better gear through dungeons and stuff except until you hit late late end game higher level mutations the majority of crap drops as BOP which is worthless if its not your build, and not to mention the additional umbral costs IF you are not already at 625.

the basic purple gear is needed so people can even start a mutation reliably (yes there are insane people doing stupid high level mutations in nothing but their socks. that is not normal play)

well, if your more into pve, you want resources, youre chill and mature, orun is opening its doors. welcoming in any company that just wants to play the game, not looking for mega companies and world conquerors. they show up we dont fight em, they get bored and leave. we like a med pop and a balanced server with some regular war, alot of opr, and alot more resource availability than a server with 2k people on it. when i say we, i can only speak for the mood in one faction. but global seems to share the sentiment but i wont claim to speak for all.

Seems to be common for ALL of the issues the players actually focus on.

Hilarious!

I didn’t say New World needs to be other MMOs, but a basic tenet of basically all MMOs is that there are items that are rare, generally the most powerful items, which in NW are 600 crafted items, so naturally, the resources needed to craft those are rare, otherwise the items themselves wouldn’t be rare.

And for what it’s worth, I pretty easily healed M1 Dynasty with an average GS of 570 and light armor load using all pieces I bought off the TP for next to nothing.

at 570 you wont ever leave m1 then.

and to ABSOLUTLY be fair

even the lego 600s are often hot dumpster fire. from crafted to found in dungeons not named items.

your bis can still be rare even if crafted legos are not.

and think of the knock on effect of having more accessable materials.

tradtionally mmos railroads you into a single build pre character but that isnt the case here.

there needs to be a large quantity of good enough purples and good enough legos for people to try out different builds. or make multiple builds for flex filling.

anyone that does (and most people should) get fucked over twice over per flex options they have.

Survival “MMOs” like ARK and Conan Exiles allow you to host your own co-op instance and they work just fine. Probably better because you choose who you want to play with.
Don’t like cheaters, exploiters, bots, or RMT? Just don’t invite them. Play only with good players and friends – which really is the core of social gaming. Instanced co-op / private servers means you are choosing quality over quantity,

its also why rust works better with their own public and private servers.

you have issues it can be moderated.

you dont like one small aspect of it change it.

and full loot works there as it wipes.

these wont make it into nw.
