Nope.
Not yet, things are getting better, but not yet. Maybe another month.
Lol I gotta think this is a troll
There are more issues now than at any earlier time
My advice is no
yeah, comeback, take it easy and enjoy the journey.
So many people, like you I believe, didn’t understand the game they were getting into. Many new folks to MMOs altogether who just don’t get what playing an MMO is like. And that’s okay… but I’d bet there’s a good chunk of people who left because the game isn’t (and will never be) for them. At a $40 one-time charge, that’s pretty easy to try out.
Of course many also left due to bugs, but you can tell if you’ve played since launch that many don’t understand that a grind and a big time investment is part of MMOs in general… and it’s what many of us like about the genre. If you want instant gratification, no-work high-reward (which you specifically say you want here) – then yea, NW is not the game for you. But there are plenty of games out there that will fit your ask.
Yeah, I am 12 and have never played an MMO.
/s
You are confusing reward with fun. I said FUN. If I meant reward, or rewarding I would have just said that.
Would have to say it depends on your playstyle.
I believe there is alot of good pvp to be had. At least from what I’ve read on the forums. Yes there are problems but pvp is always being tweaked in every game honestly. particually when they add new weapons, ect.
If Story PVE is your love… no… wait a year… there is not one memorable character in this game and 0% immersion. It currently lacks content that makes you feel invested in the world at all expect a really horrible tax systems that has the exact opposite effect of immersion.
Regular PVE is pretty cool, the hunting and exploring is fun and can be exciting at times. If your into raids and such… I don’t know, tried a few, unimpressed honestly, considereing how awesome the outside world is (trees that actually fall and sound like trees falling) I expected a hell of lot more… Time will fix this I feel.
Crafting - maybe cooking, alchemy. But there is no money to made honestly, it’s more of a time/money sink then anything else unfortantly (if the game survives a year i imagine they will somehow make the lower tier items usefull)
no
Hmmm smells kind of fishy and feels liky bait but just in case OP is not from uder the bridge: For love of all gods, avoid this devolving mess.
I’d say no, here is why:
In a month, your GS will be lowered to the value of your HMW and you will have to do this to get it back; Copy paste BTW
-
You can get 7 Gypsom a day, doing different activities. (OPR, Arena, Gathering, Killing Monster, Killing Boss, Completing Dungeon). Now, some players(allot) dislike some of these activities and won’t have fun doing them(therefore the system is already frustrating because we do not have the choice in how we get our 7 daily Gypsum).
-
Let say you get 4 Gypsum a day(which is already 1h30), you now need to make cast. This will cost you 600 Gold per. So 2400 Gold a day(now find a way to generate it, another 2h for an average player). For allot of players this is a huge amount and we did not mention that gold will surely deflate because of this new system. (In current gold the same value will probably be double so 4800)
-
You can only use 1 cast a day for each type of item. This mean, if you play bow and need to get it back to 580 to be able to enjoy the game like you were before the patch, you need a minimum of 20 days. This is assuming +5GS/cast, the datamined value is closer to 3GS/Cast and dropping at high GS this would mean 33 days minimum.
-
But we are not done, remenber I said that you would grind 4 Gypsum a day, this mean you only crafted 4 cast, that is for 10 gear slot. This mean that for an average player to be back to their previous power they would need 50 days generously or 78 with datamined numbers. (and I’m generous, your average player will most likely make 2 cast a day bumping these values to 100 days and 156 days).
no it kinda got worse. however if you wanna mainly pvp then now is you´re last chance as with the new updates in december and january they gonna turn this into a full pve game and i assume most pvp players will leave then. esp with a proper pvp game launching end if january.
If you’re watching the Reddit or forums, you’ll see they’re pushing out weekly updates trying to iron out the bugs, sadly more bugs keep surfacing. Overall it’s still fun despite the bugs, and now would be a great time to get back into it as the new patch/event starts on the 14th!
Oh, now, there’s a terrible De-sync ingame where my character literally teleports after finishing animations and I don’t even know where it is to dodge. It’s annoying af.
As for returning to the game… If you still love what New world is, then there are certain things that you could do now to mitigate future damage. Like, farming tons of Chests to increase Gear score since a HUGE Nerf of Cosmic Size is coming to utterly destroy anyone that didn’t do that and was just chilling.
If that’s not a problem, a long break is probably for the best, to save frustration. I’d say a year+
If your starting from scratch, $50 is a bargain, The story mode level 1 to 60 is very good. You will basically enjoy playing it for 200+ hrs.
However end game is a mess at the moment. If your looking for a game to play for the next 1 yr, wait 3 months. Its either at that time going to be awesome or dead.
Try out PTR , feels much more different !
Definatly a YES to return
Not really.
If you’re coming back for PvP – no. Performance issues; balance issues; a lack of content; bugs; boring repetition; loot box simulator mania; and a lack of direction/vision still plague PvP.
If you’re coming back for PvE – no. Performance issues; balance issues; a lack of content; bugs; boring repetition; loot box simulator mania; and a lack of direction/vision still plague PvE.
As others have commented, levels 1-30 remain NW’s strong suit, and the game needs much more time to complete the other aspects of the experience, balance things out, squash bugs and polish things up. Based on their track record in Alpha and live, I am not sure they can pull it off.
EDIT: This post was flagged as inappropriate, so I revised in an attempt to get my point across in perhaps a less “disgruntled” manner. . .
nnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
You have missed the point entirely my friend.
They aren’t listening to ANY feedback. Even when it is constructive and well thought out. Even when they elicit it from the people on the PTR, only to ignore them and plow ahead with their changes regardless of what the players tell them.
The statistics don’t lie. The vast majority of players have made that abundantly clear by their absence from the game. Here is a link to the latest Steam Charts for concurrent players:
The number of players online day-to-day has been consistently dropping. They barely peaked over 100K in the last 24 hours. They started out at over 900K just back at the beginning of October. You can see from the chart that each patch has lost them more and more of their active player base.
I’m not a fan of the term “White Knight” or “Fanboy”, but the people that are left must realize that if the bleeding doesn’t stop, they won’t have a game left to play. AGS will cancel a failing project - they have done it several times in the recent past.
Don’t take my word for it. Read all about it on the Wiki:
The bottom line for me is this:
I am a huge fan of the game as it was at launch. I want to see that come back so I and my family can continue to enjoy it.
But the sad reality is unless AGS pulls its head out of the sand, the game will likely not exist in 6 months. In that scenario, we all lose.
I do play the game and enjoy it as best as I can but this is as false a statement as I think I’ve ever seen written.
