Is Luck working correctly?

Luck doesn’t works that way. It doesn’t give you ⅓ chance. Use the search tool and do a little research.

Fair enough. I was just taking the wording of what Luck is supposed to do ingame at face value. If it’s explained one way, yet actually works a completely different way, I didnt realize that.

The percentage you see in game divided by 10 is the actual luck increase you receive. That luck applies to the first roll done when killing a mob or looting a chest, which determines the loot bucket you get something from. Luck does not affect which item(s) you get from each bucket, just helps you get into higher tier buckets.

My questions were pertaining to, specifically, monster/chest loot luck. Reading the FAQ now. Thanks all!!!

Very informative!

Example… I did “not” know this but I’m at 584 expertise so hopefully just a few more WT runs!!

“Players must have an Expertise level of 590 or higher to become eligible for Legendary items at gear score 600.”

That FAQ was exactly what I needed! Thank you so much, @LordSobert !

Eh, on the same thread the Devs contradict the answers regarding expeditions luck, and was never spoken about again afaik.

Luck system sucks all-around, but they are convinced it works fine.

Well… I don’t have any real ability to measure if it’s working correctly or not but am eager to see what happens once i hit 590+ Expertise (i already have 600+ gearscore) and when i toggle on pvp and try looting monsters and chests.

What is the contradiction?

There was a line stating that luck didn’t applied on dungeons.

Later, that opening a dungeon chest was affected by said luck.

Maybe it was later edited, last time I looked at it was still there. Or maybe I can’t even read, that could be a possibility.

I know they said that pvp luck bonus doesnt apply to dungeons because there is no pvp threat but as far as i onow luck works in an expedition. They even use Marl as an example

Mal or malevolence is not an expedition.

It’s a POI/area in Eden Grove

Supossed to say Marl not mal

To be completely honest with you NO ONE knows how the f luck in this game works :joy: not even the devs…

I haven’t played for a while so it might have changed but there used to be a problem that if you had too much luck aka whole gear, luck weapons, trophies and jewelry you were literally robbing yourself of luck and applying debuffs to yourself

Idk if ^ is still the case but since it was you can see that luck in this game* doesn’t work how you would think it should.

We don’t really know if luck working as expected but what we know it’s luck is not working like we think.
It’s not more luck you have more chance you have to loot something
It’s working like steps to access a loot table where an item is.

For exemple, a lengendary item is in the loot table 3, you need to have 30% luck to access this loot table
In this loot table 3 there are your legendary and some others items with each have a random chance to loot which you can’t modify by anything.

So you can have enough luck to access the loot table 3 but spend 3 days to loot your legendary at 0.00001% chance to drop

It does not work like that. There are lot tables like this

1…10 - item A
11-20- item B
21-50 - items C
51-100 - item D

And you roll a 100 dice. What luck does it does add to the result. Lets say you rolled 45 - you sohuld get item C. But sine you have luck bonus it might att +20 to result, so you are 65 and get item D.

It kinda works like this. That why sometimes to much luck it bad. Since items yo uwant are not last in table, but lets say round 80,

I wonder how many players tried to understand luck in this game and called it quits because it was too convoluted.

@Aenwyn - With all the confusion listed above, is this something maybe the Devs coild weigh in regarding?

Has Luck been tested internally recently etc and, if so, can you share anything with us to help allay concerns?

Thank you, in advance!
