Don’t do the mistake to come New World…
New World is not player friendly at all. Everyone plays solo or 5 people friend dungeon group and does not care others.
New World is full of bots, mega alt account barons, exploiters, aimbot cheaters, gold sellers and gold buyers, territory owner exploiters to earn millions of gold weekly from single territory as thy hold x3 territory for +1 years already so noone can fight against them.
OPR pvp, 3vs3 pvp and fortress sieges pvp are total joke. Open world pvp and pve are empty…
New World right now is mega grind. Only p2w players who buy illegal gold can get the full BIS gear to fight against other old p2w BIS geared players to compete in pvp and pve… Otherwise, you will never catch them unless you play the game like real-time job to play over +8 hours daily…
EU region is dead. Trade post market prices are insane.

I enjoy the game. AGS has had more than their fair share of mishaps, but honestly the combat is quite fun and unlike any other mmo out there at the moment. There are many other options than there were in the past, so the population will fluctuate based on content drops quite a bit. Forums for any game get quite emotional, so don’t take everything said here as truth lol.
The game will probably look very different a year from now with the release of mounts and a future expansion, so you would probably have an easier time finding lower level people to grind away with at those times.
Just be weary it will be tough to hang with pvp crowd since everyone sticking around is good at the action style combat of new world for the most part. I think a lot of mmo players got filtered hard by not having tab target combat, so it’s possible to get completely dumpstered in pvp until you put the time in, but you can always team up with people and learn much faster that way.
Tldr: Game will look way different by end of year and you must be okay with getting destroyed in pvp for a while.
If you want play pve. Then untill endgame it is friendly and fine for casual players.
Moment you get to endgame pve - not so much.
When it comes to pvp. No. Its not. You will fight vs best geared and most skilled veteran players on all game modes starting day 1.

the game itself is nice, would even recommend an ironman… just try to avoid pvp / m10 pve. toxic as hell

Of course. The new pve front end is amazing. 50 dollars and no sub gives you hundreds if not thousands of hours. There is no alternative game with better PVP atm, it is no more or less toxic than any other end game content anywhere. Less probably. It’s not dead, don’t pick a low pop server to start on. It is somewhat New Player friendly if you’re somewhat social competent.
With the upcoming Patch crafting gets buffed for Players within the leveling phase.
PvE is fine, we do have some entertaining dungeons, combat system is engaging and using different weapons is a lot of fun.
Cant say much about PvP as i never enjoyed it in any game.

PVP is not great… You cannot get into that so called Fortress Sieges ever if you are not part of the owning territory guild. Attackers are the hired 3rd party of the territory owning guilds most of the time. 3 major guilds from each faction dominate everything.
OPR, 3vs3 - good luck having fun to fight against pre-made groups, aimbot cheater bow users (musket is ruined already).

You cannot aimbot with a bow dude unless the target is standing perfectly still. Aimbot only works because people make bullets fly the speed of light. Arrows have a travel time.
go watch youtube videos about how aimbot works then come and speak here…

This is non-sense that players claim that aimbot is not exist for bow lol. Arrow fly in speed of light too in a faster manner with fast reload with larger hits size etc etc… We see it in OPR. Go read some forum threads that everyone complains for the last +2 weeks already about the situations of OPR because of the bow users and pre-made groups…
Yes OP, the early level PvE experience has improved a lot since release.
It’s very new player friendly. It’s one of the easiest MMOs I’ve ever played to get into from day one. If your intent is to PVP heavily, then you’ve got quite the slog ahead of you but ultimately that’s got nothing to do with “new players”, because by the time you’re even ready for PVP you won’t be a new player any longer, just new to PVP (in which case I’d recommend joining a good company or just doing lots of duels/capping forts with others to get practice in). It’s well documented that the PVP gear grind is brutal. So if that is a problem for you then I’d probably not bother buying the game but there is a lot more to this game than that.
Your video link proves nothing. It shows an aimbot with a musket. Bow rounds have travel time, musket rounds do not.
Also for any idiots out there that want to risk their amazon accounts, ANY software that’s telling you to disable antivirus, disabling things like CPU guard features in BIOS, is a keyloger/virus. You’re opening to having your entire life destroyed. Do not run this software, and that youtuber is a total idiot for running it on his main rig and not on a test box.
Personally I think I liked it a bit better when it cost more to level up, but without the experience/GS systems. Now getting to lvl 60 is very simple, in fact, even the character learning part is lost a bit.
It does not change the aimbot cheat is exist for all ranged weapons, so you want me to find a specific bow aimbot video too to make you believe? The video you watch is a bot software having that aimbot feature. and yes BOTS are exist in this game as you know, even you deny it… And there are tons of BOTS at this game, similar to Losk Ark where when Amazon started to ban some of them, more than half of the so called active population is gone… AGS cannot do it here fully because the active population of this game is already in bottom… However, the game is unplayable right now in OPR in terms of pvp perspective already… I really cannot believe that you say - it is musket aimbot… OMG really.
Anyway, everyone is happy right as long as AGS does not touch the only weapon bow that is never nerfed ever at this game in general? I hope that BOW will get worse mega nerfs than musket too. Because of you people and these aimbot cheaters, all of our BIS musket sets become useless with new patch where legal musket players suffered as usual.
Now, everyone suffer from bow users. I hope that you people will get your mega nerfs too.
