Is no one going to adress this?

What grind? This game has no grind to obtain bis gear? Everything is completely RNG. This is a big reason why the game bleeds players. There is no set path, no real way to progress your character towards the gear you want for pvp mainly but I suppose pve too. If getting the gear you wanted had a really obtainable way, not as many people would leave the game when big changes come out shaking up the meta. the majority of people spend hundreds or thousands of hours and tons of gold to acquire the see you want, just for it to be thrown in the bin.

No one wants to do that again. If getting the gear you wanted for pvp was far less rng and more gamer friendly, (not having shirking fort and freedom mods be extremely expensive. 15-30k each for example). New worlds biggest problem besides wars, bugs etc is how gear and getting gear works in this game. If getting bis gear was much more reasonable and not so RNG heavy then far less people would leave the game when these big meta shifts come out. People who spent 1000s of hours and hundreds of thousands of gold getting bis don’t like having their build tossed in the trash and want to do that same “grind” over again.

Wow has a system where every update or expansion the gear cap gets raised, but it has a very clear path on how to get your bis gear. Everyone knows exactly what to do for both pve and pvp. New world doesn’t work like this and the game will struggle as long as it is. Giving players more chances at getting legendaries is a great change and if you’re upset by it then you aren’t a fan of new world. If your afraid of everyone having bis now for pvp means your no longer at an advantage, welp, idk what to tell you. If everyone is in bis gear then it’s just a skill dif.

I dunno lol

I watch the vids. Just recently came back to the forums due to the huge stir up about to happen.

The changes allows more to enjoy a lot of the instances more.

Looking forward to expedition changes. Thought they were too tedious for what they offered. It was better to sell bits from my hoard than farm instances. It is why I like this game. More than 1 way to meet your personal objectives.

Aka non-linear character progression. The true meaning of RPG.

Yea I see on the February update they taking it the « elemental Resistsnce » affixe but you will still have different type of mutation but mobs won’t take less dmg from Fire on a fire mutation week , this is how I understand it ( we will still get blown by enflamed) I didn’t see the 5 level of mutation in the Feb video though

sigh, how does it not compute, if the devs intend to do balance patches in a seasonal schedule, gear HAS to be easily obtainable and disposable.

if it isn’t it doesn’t work.

the whole point is to make pvp barrier low and quick.

for PvE idk they can extend it by added horizontal grinds or umbrals progression.

but yes making gear easier to hit leggo and bis should be the goal of they want seasonal updates.

also I believe the mech is on pause and not coming to ptr and the devs simply forgot to exclude it from the notes.

which is why it’s hilarious to see the pending trainwreck that causes.

I agree, also, there was another update where theu said they ARE beginning new systems in Season 1 - gear from war, invasion, and gypsum casts will all pick up a 3rd perk if upgraded to 600.

It’s amazing for the game, if you just play the game to grind BiS then you’re clearly the minority, most people want good gear to do the fun content in this game or try builds.

This will also hurt RMT and allow players to gear themselves again after every balance update.

I agree. The upgrade to the third perk should only be through crafting. There should also be a timer/cap on how many crafting upgrades can be done a day.

The whole game has no sense
 this game is totaly

This game cannot take a right path, it s like a melting pot without flavour :frowning:

This is something strongly healthy in order to help to gear up in case they start doing more meta shifts.
Look at how many posts complaning about how much they paid for their sets.

Read the developers comment from yesterday. It’s all on the table.

I have said it somewhere else already, but the mmorpg landscape has changed. Many of the now ‘casual players’ are the kids from yesterday, the true mmorpg generation, when the genre was at its peak. They are not ‘newbs’, they are experienced gamers, but have simply grown up and life for many has added additional responsibilities, which cuts their available game time.

However, growing up has also given most of them income, so they are an important customer base (I’d say the biggest customer base). You add old school grinds to this modern mmorpgs landscape, and it puts these players at a disadvantage. Other games have realised this and adjusted accordingly. Games like GW2 and ESO, for definite, and other games as well, offer these players ways to engage with their favourite content, without having to jump through painfully high held hoops.

You are not the ‘better’ player just because you can spend more time in a game. A game should offer you fun content to game your time away, as many hours as you got, but this should not lead to punishing those with less time. There are ways to create meaningful ‘BIS’ gear, GW2 certainly has managed this. Massive grinds are not the way forth these days, where the mmorpg genre is on the decline anyway. We want this genre to continue and provide us with great titles, but for that it has to stay a viable business model, and for that to be the case, this ‘casual’ market must be given opportunity to join pvp and pve endgame activities without suffering.

Create hard to obtain skins, mounts/pets for vanity value, but do not grind gate content.

And I got all the time in the world to game, so I got no other horse in the race than that from experience, end game shared is more enjoyable then an endgame where you twiddle thumbs because not enough players to game with - pve or pvp.

They also upped the umbral cost going 590-600

 say make a 4th perk for Lego crafted gear
 and maybe a very rare chance on dropped legos as well when they hit 625 or something, but it should be random

Then what will happen when they raise the GS increase in the fall?

Sounds good to me

good shts way too overpriced

At the end of the day, I prefer the game to be a skill game and it is an action combat mmo, there’s no harm in having more focus on it. It’d be cool if we could all try different classes out to see what we are best at and what we like, experiment with different perk and skill tree combinations that are reasonably balanced, with pros and cons to every decision.

I don’t think what is going on with the gearing system has been healthy, I think allowing newer players and people who haven’t been able to get their gear a chance at it will be healthy and encourage more engagement with content. I don’t see the value in gatekeeping BIS gear for the top 1% of gold hoarders.

One thing you haven’t considered is that you can’t even get BIS weapons from the RNG drops as they won’t have attunement so there will still be rare items and I’m sure there will be more (pvp perks for example), not every market will be affected, the perk market and BIS will still be thriving but prices may change and crafting could even end up thriving with lower mat prices, can you even imagine how popping trade chat would be with this change?!

How will we even test the balance changes out, if we can’t use the gear that we theory craft as BIS every season? In the event of a gear wipe, how much would you rather get gear by playing the game instead of having to hoard materials and money for 2 months? (ironically the season will almost be over and potentially your gear will be trash again)

I think everyone I know who has had BIS gear has used RMT at some point, the rarity is too much for a game with an open trading system and players choose the easy route which is almost certainly leading to dodgy outcomes and potentially serious crime.

Gear should be a requirement and reward for endgame content, but not a barrier to it and many companies will not let you play without meeting the requirements, players lack the confidence to even try to compete because of gear disparity.

What is a ‘‘casual grind’’ of 2 months for you, other people equate to 2 hours in the office getting paid and swiping away. Or worse, people who are struggling feel pressure to catch up and time is money at the end of the day, many just choose not to invest either in the game that they weren’t allowed to play.

This is meant to be a game, not a pension fund! Sweaty players no lifing the game with the gold, materials and items to start one, they shouldn’t be the only ones with access. I don’t know if you have another agenda but seriously, this is the best change new world devs can make.

This claim seems beyond outlandish. May I see your maths please?

Some people are excited by chasing rare items, but some people consider those items to be so near to unobtainable that they don’t see the point in trying, and they just give up.

If bis gear was too rare, people would give up
