Is the Game "dead"?

You are right. We must not listen to them!!!

True story, and I get the frustration. I’ve been on the giving and receiving end of it.

Main thing is just staying with the group in OPR. Avoid veering off and chasing someone (im bad for it, and often die :rofl:)

Main thing is your positioning more than anything. Resilient is a good perk to defend against range, as well as physical eversion. Resilient pieces can be pricey sometimes, due to demand. Just need to find some way to make cash that you enjoy. Chest runs are kind of dull, but running through elite areas with zergs can help bump your expertise and make cash.

At this point, do kind of wish they would nerf the range of muskets, and rework it a bit. Or just adding bullet drop…My favorite weapon, but it’s not good for the health of the game at all.

Was legit me a few months ago. But the flames are slowly going out :rofl:

Very slowly…

What is competitive about sinking hours? Competitive would be normalizing gear for PvP so that, you know, skill determines the winner, not number of hours sunk or luck with drops. Like most successful MMOs.

I think the next PTR release will be a decider

I play for the gathering and PvP.

At the moment, i will die 99% of the time to GA/WH or IG/SS. You get the very occasional BB death. All of the above are on shot deaths, it’s pretty boring.

There’s not much variety.

What successful MMOs lean more towards pvp and doesn’t have any gear progression involved?

Genuinely curious

ESO = Elder Scrolls
FFXIV = Final Fantasy

One is the biggest Western and one is the biggest Eastern Roleplaying franchise in the entire world. This game has nothing like that, no dedicated fanbase and no devs that could pull this off. So no, that comparison is pretty much invalid.

It doesn’t lean more towards PvP, but Guild Wars 2 has a max level cap of 80 since launch (10 years ago) and the gear progression exists in a very low-key way. Once you got your legendary armor, you’re done (but that’s a hell of a task). You don’t need the throwaway gear progression of WoW etc.

FF14 I know, for a fact, does not lean towards pvp. I know they’ve recently revamped it, but it still appears to be more of an after thought.

GW2…for sure wouldn’t know.

BUT

So in other words, you still need to do some gear grinding so you don’t get pooped on. Does it have different build variations that requires different gear?

Personally I believe the 2 weapon style system on NW is it’s downfall. Great on paper, but insanely difficult to balance. Also you’re not only getting gear just for one weapon, but 2…in the crappiest RNG crafting system I know of. Probably would be no where near as difficult, if they make it a bit less RNG and make it cheaper to craft…

You need resilient on every piece + few weapon perks. Thats all, you get whole set for like 20k gold which definitely isn´t anything extreme.

I gave up ESO after a year, it was pretty bad during that time.

Gear and class determined how good you were. I think NW has done a better job and I play bow.

Lol 20k for a piece. Not a whole set.

Add a 0 behind the price for each piece

March Update has been awesome and definitely helped the game a lot with quite a few returning players. April Update has been horrendous again, reintroducing tons of old bugs with a ton of new bugs slipping in aswell. If you like getting One-Shotted by broken Gravity Wells over and over again because the Developers don’t think it’s a priority to fix, don’t start playing right now.

As far as the May Update is concerned, at first everybody was hyped for Arenas and the PvP Reward Tracks, but after seeing the amount of unnecessary & heavyhanded changes they put in that make Combat feel incredibly slow and clunky, it’s a sureshot at this point to say that it is going to be a massive flop of an update. It’s a shame, but the developers just don’t listen.

You said GA is overpowered, then they nerf it next patch and you now say they heavy nerfed… so what do you want?

Its still not dead yet but slowly and surely heading that way. And the main reason is because the devs are just out of touch and lacks any basic knowledge how to balance a game.

I heard this “game is dying because devs can’t balance the game” in every single mmo i have ever played, lol

That is the problem with the whole system.

If you are dealing with any games that has to do with any head to head competition, expect never ending balancing. It is all due to the HUMAN variable.

For this reason, many decided to find other ways to create various MMOS with or without certain things. It is the reason you seen many different genre branch off from the typical MMORPG of the past.

And MMORPGs deal with the most fickle of the lot.

If all the players who wonder the same, would play again instead of wondering, this game would be better than it is.
They complain that there is no PVP and they are going to play a full pve game XD, they complain that it has a bug and they go to a game full of bots, they complain about everything XD.
