Describe the issue you are experiencing: wondeirng if the glowing lifecrystal staff is supposed to be 500 or 600 when crafted with barnacles.

Do you have any news about all the items from Depths and Dynasty that are NOT craftable with materia? Like Empress Zhou clothing or Blessign of Forefathers Amulet? It can only be crafted as a low level item (400+), not as up to GS600 from mutated version. Will this be fixed?
What about forefathers which comes from depths. Its one of best healing pieces but doesnt appear to be craftable with materia it looks to be honoring normal depths level.
@Aenwyn When the Glowing Lifecrystal Staff drops in a mutated Dynasty Shipyard expedition, it drops at a higher level, depending on the player’s expertise. So 590 to 600 for players that have 600+ expertise in the Life Staff.
Since we get the Dynasty Materia from running mutated expeditions, shouldn’t players be able to craft at 590 to 600?
Issue is NOT that it ‘comes from B&BP’, that was just a typo by author. The issue is that we can ONLY craft this and many other items from Dynasty and Depth with the GS of 400-500 instead of 590-600. Your ‘materia’ system is not compatibile with the fact that Dyansty and Depths are mutated and have drops at GS590… Fix that please otehrwise Dyansty and Depths materia is useless garbage.
Yeah, the design of the materia system doesnt make any sense to include the ‘normal level’ dungeon drops. Theres exactly zero players that are ever going to get enough materia together from depths/dynasty/amrine/starstone and be able to use any of the named items at that low gearscore. The only way to get that much materia is to run the dungeon enough times to level past ever needing those items.
Materia should only be for mutated dungeon versions of named items.
Currently, the system is working as intended and it’s uniform across all expeditions. However, I appreciate the feedback this thread generated - it definitely is something for us to consider!
How is this intended? Are level 40’s intended to grind dozens of normal depths for enough materia to craft a level 40 item, by which time they’ve already reached level 60 from the xp gained from running the dungeon so the gear is now obsolete? It makes absolutely no sense.
Have to agree here, this needs to be re-reviewed at the highest level. If this is intended then normals should salvage to a different materia tier and have that drive crafted level…or have the crafted level honor player expertise.
