Exactly, the supply of resources like lodestone is strained even now. Canāt imagine what it would be if they increased the capacity without adding more nodes or decreasing the respawn time.
ik still the maps allready so overcrowded. its just to small for 5k⦠lol
maybe, just maybe 3k
They have to already be expecting at least, what⦠1 or 2k players simultaneously in Brimstone Sands at one time.
They have to, right? ![]()
I donāt think the map is overcrowded, just places like Windsward. Itās still hard to find players to run expeditions with.
idk Tartarus is full. no issues at all ![]()
This. Not only expeditions, also just out in the world. The more I stray away from EF and WW, the less populated the world becomes. And with the map soon expanding by quite a good chunk, as well as instanced wars for fun becoming a thing, population will spread even more.
On my server the more i stray from EF/WW the less i run in to players and mostly run in to bots. Kinda sad actually to see how many bots there are.
In an 8 hour period i saw 300 bots. I reported a few of them but ultimately there is no point because a few of them were 60 meaning they only ban in ban waves making it a waste of time to report them.
server stability is already in question prior to going up to 2500 id prefer them get back to having more servers and cut the cap back until theyāre able to support a larger player base and unless you have instanced nodes enjoy paying 2x-3x more than you already do for basic materials
The map as it is doesnāt support the current 2500 player caps during primetime. There needs to be dynamic resources spawns that only activate once certain thresholds are met for concurrent players. Besides that the expeditions are already stressed with the current concurrent users on 2500 servers. Scripts are not running correctly for AI encounters and its a fundamental issue right now.
Which is⦠odd.
It feels as if they are not instanced towards their own servers, which is awkward if you ask me. One would expect them to be completely separate from the servers running the world.
I know this is not the case with New World, hence why if youāre in a dungeon and the world dies, you still get kicked out as well. But itās just such an odd design choice.
Yep, the instanced content all needs to be actually instanced and siloed in terms of dedicated resources. Most games use a instance server to manage that separate from the world server.
To be honest, if AGS manages to stabilise the servers or move/redraft the entire infrastructure onto better servers that can sustain 5K players, along with optimising performance drops and resource scarcity (either instanced, or personalised) - Iām all up for 5K players.
There is far too many things happening at the same time for the server to sustain right now. In my opinion, moving to instanced form of gameplay or relocating some activities out off the āmainā server would help greatly. I see no point for the server to be handling all activities worsening the experience for every player out there.
resources are not the only content in the game, they should just increase the number of systems for players to enjoy, everybody gets resources in the end, just need more time
if they add a world boss that drops lots of resources, people will care less about the little rocks
I donāt personally mind a server capacity increase but my main concern is⦠can their hardware and bandwidth take it? Only asking due to all the random and unexplained lag issues everyone (okā¦not āeveryoneā but a ton of people) are having.
That sounds fun⦠a world boss on an over populated server where only ten players of the likely hundreds that show up actually get kill credit and loot.
LONG before we see world bosses in the sense your talking about, we need to introduce the concept of a RAID to the game not just as content but as a group composition. Groups of several other groups up to 10 groups and make it so that you actually have a UI for it and share raid wide kill credit.
Then let raids go at each other for world bosses and world pvp.
Chest runs have hundreds of people in them and the only way to have a chance at getting credit is to be in a group thatās really active. Chest runs or elite zones runs will be incredibly laggy and boring; there will be lots of players who donāt get credit for kills.
I believe they prioritized the increase since so many people were coming back in prep for the new update. I think weāre seeing that increase now and they probably wonāt do another in October, unless they have to.
Lots dont get credit nowā¦
I think server in Europe, Tir Na Nog, it was very bad idea. Fae and Caer Sidi are not even close to full.
Eventually if they wanted 1 new server for Nyssa, they should have created a new FR/EN server. Cuz looks like many FR likes to stay on their FR server, not merge on EN servers.
