Is there a point to reporting bots?

I ask this, because in spite of reporting the fishing bots dozens and dozens of times over weeks, 3 of the 4 ocean hotspots in Restless Shore continually have the same bots constantly fishing them.

So the question has to be asked, is botting just going to be allowed because in spite of AGS SAYING that it is against the TOS and adding the option to report them, AGS is not actually going to do anything about them since they artificially inflate the games lagging number of players?

Because every area I go to, I see the same bots running the same routes, and know they have been reported time after time. People are getting REALLY tired of having to try to outrun the bots to get materials, and unless AGS wants a game populated mostly by bots, I suggest AGS actually do something about it besides just adding a report option they ignore, and a “are you still playing” check which can be avoided by adding a little side step and back to their macros.

On my server entire forests near Everfall are cleared. They stay cleared, it’s nothing but stumps. All due to a handful of bots running 24/7. I believe they exist to clear the route for the iron mining bots also operating non-stop in the same area.

It’s only on the six or eight actually populated servers, so shouldn’t be too hard to police. Won’t need to go to the hundreds of dying servers, they aren’t being botted.

i would say dont lose faith in the system, but im not sure there is a system to lose faith in.

but to answer your question. yes please keep reporting i love watching the botting videos on youtube. and doing a lottery on how high they are levelled.

I just read the title but I have an answer without that essay you wrote. Your peace of mind is why you do it. It does not matter if they use it to clean the game up. By reporting them you can feel good. That’s all you can ever expect. No matter what happens after that you still can feel good.

Doesnt seem to be. We’ve being reporting BLATANT bots like kdopw on the Camelot server for over 3 weeks and they are still in EVERY SINGLE Outpost Rush match 24/7. Some games have 5 or more bots on each side now. The botting community is getting bolder and bolder because there are no punishments or downsides to running their bots in this game.

It’s destroying the fun for those of us real players trying to enjoy Outpost Rush. Most games are lost based on the number of bots/AKFers the losing team rolled with that game. To be fair some bots are advanced and emulate player behaviors but some just afk run into walls or crouch/shoot a fire staff every few seconds and should be extremely easy to detect.

I’m sure these bots are injecting copious amounts of gold and items into the game. AGS obviously doesn’t care.

Have we considered that the bots are run by Amazon, or sanctioned.

Let’s consider this.

Banning bots would …

increase cost for base materials making people complain about the changes to crafting even more.
If they bots are using their gold to also sink items and inject gold to players, that would go away.
OPR ques would get longer or never happen at all on some servers
Decrease the already falling numbers
…

There are a ton of reasons they don’t get rid of bots if you take that only the metrics matter approach.

nah bro, any kind of bots right now are free to farm except those gold spammers they get instaban. They are not a priority atm given the circumstance AGS is in.

Dude, the report didn’t work. I reported three mining robots and three logging robots. None of them was banned. For one of the mining robots, I also recorded a 30-minute video about how the robot works in a loop and sent it to the official. This has no effect. They are still online.image

I believe I will stop playing this game soon.

Maybee AGS lie about bots get banned… on auction millions resouces for 0.01-0.1 prices, or people don’t understand basic of economics, but for some resources for that prices i don’t understand. If they add nicknamed on each posted auction(like in WoW) will be good to check what player bot or just ruining prices…

I think its a mix of both

Can wait until bots start selling more endgame mats for cheap

There is no point in reporting BOTS… AGS needs them right now because with their dwindling number of players BOTS make up about 10-20% of active players.
