just twiddling my thumb atm waiting for alpha 2 for AoC tbh while watchign pvE player cry on the forums about a pvp system that they no nothing about with the corruption system lol

the funny thing is there demanding a PvE server where we ask for a pvp server in new world the PvE player are like no we dont want a pvp server that not gonna effect me at all :stuck_out_tongue:

Noone ask for PvE servers, jusf fresh servers. All servers are pvpve, all you need to do is to flag yourself.

No, PVP servers would be a waste of resources and everyone’s time. Even if they only had 1 server that all regions could use, you would have at most 500 people online - most with a ping of 150 or higher. It would have a dead economy, so upgrading territory would be impossible.

It would be like if PVE players asked for a PVE-only server with wars and owning territory removed, It might be better to some but it would be ridiculous for the majority.

Its doubtful that AGS would waste resources on PvP servers after seeing how successful a PvE only update was.

Maybe Mortal online would be a better option for you?

Don’t take this the wrong way but if you don’t have the foresight to see the maintenance that would be required then I don’t think explaining it will help.

But it would be a giant waste of time and that’s likely the reason we haven’t seen it and never will.

please go on…

Educate us ignorants how changing a couple of lines of code (that can be achieved with either if-statements or preprocessor directives) to force a flag would require more maintenance or more resources than any other server that have been added to the game.

And if the server dies… who cares… servers have been dying since launch, and more will die when the fresh start one are launched!!! at least if the pvp server dies it won’t require merging like a normal server, so less maintenance there

A single line of code? These things are never as simple as you think.

It would be a waste of resources to set up a server, change the games code, and then running that single server just for the server to be essentially dead. Why would people play on a server where territories can’t make money, can’t be upgraded, no one can buy anything from the trade post, no one can group up for dungeons between factions due to everyone being flagged etc?

If you want an experience like that then why don’t you start a new character on a server and give yourself some personal rules like no trading, no trade skills, only play with same faction members etc and see how much fun you have in the game.

Because game is really bad … full loot can be fun but its hard to make it as good as they made it in Albion Online. There is too many grind all over again after death … in Albion you just gear up again xd

Loss of resources is setting up servers with an average of 100 people or less like the ones that currently exist. If they add a PvP server, people will most likely stay there, they can block transfers in and out, but even if there are 500 people with the intention of doing PvP, it will be more entertaining than a server with 2500 people and nobody marked for PvP because it’s just a disadvantage.

i havabnt been here for line a month or 2 :stuck_out_tongue: so dont look at me i just popped in to see if server up but since it seems the answere is no ill go back to twiddling my thumbs playing random crap
