So, the New Gravity Well desyncs you and drags you back, in a worse manner than Ice Shower did it in its most glorious op state.
The new Gravity Well gave birth to a new horrible meta, of only greataxes and ice gauntlets in wars, mainly because the interactions with a gravity well are so buggy, sometimes you cannot cast spells inside a gravity well, and sometimes if you cast, you just get desynced back.
This gave birth to grav well ice shower combo.
There are many instances where Grav Well will not let you weapon swap, spellcast, hold guard up.
Is that it? Well, sadly it’s not.
I saw myself dying in wars sometimes instantly, and thought to myself…what can i do? Maybe i had like 3 grav wells exploding on me, even if it’s still unjustifiable.
Imo, Grav well shouldn’t do more damage than a spell like Scream, for example. Not more than a 1k, maximum 2k damage.
Insatiable Gravity Well should provide utility, not double damage. Like healing, or something else.
I was amazed by the gravity well damage after a weird interaction and looked on the recording afterwards.
I should mention that in that particular moment, i had 1.9k phys resistance, 1.2k elemental, while gems defense are 15% phys and 5% elemental, 625 gs all items.
8k damage taken, more or less, from Gravity Well plus its perk? This is pure absurdity.

Gravity well is like super well deisgned. Look, single skill that:
does rlly nice dmg
is super large aoe
does light cc - pull and slow
does heavy cc - root
I mean its nothing wrong with having it all in 1 skill. Lets just increase a dmg by factor of x2 or x3 and add like 90%+ life steam to it to make it usable
Its just horrible. I think its even worse than back in 2021 when the IG lagged the game out, the grav well lags everything, movement abilities are rubber banding, weapons arent swapping, its just horrible. And combined with ice shower is an absolute joke its probably the most cancerous combo ever, not even worth to play melee against such builds.
If they would atleast put a minimum stat amount on the items to use it, it would solve so many problems, like 50int for Ig, 50dex for Rapier 50str for GA etc. Most weapon getting nerfed because other builds can use it just for its utility without sacrificing any points.
Yea they should rework how all cc skills work. Lets say we have 2sec root on VG. Simple would be 0.5sec root on 50int, 1sec on 100int, 1.5 on 150int and 2sec on 200 int or more.
Same with other cc skills on all weapons. Problem solved when it comes to making stupid builds like GA+IG. It wont be fully solved, but reduced by a lot.
That won’t fix much on current meta, ga ig just work at best separate, with a mage next to bruiser.
There are easy fixes to most roots, honestly.
For example, they can completely remove Scream root imo, saying that as a main vg player. Instead, add either a slow, or buff the Petrifying Scream to add more healing reduction, and it will be a healthy fix, rather than a buff or nerf.
For Ice Shower, make it so that the slow and stamina silence activates only at the moment when you enter the shower first time.
The problem with Ice Shower is that this debuff reactivates if you enter the same shower again, or it just persists for as long as you stay inside it, and reverse debuff countdown finally starts after you get out of the shower.
That’s way too much value for a single freaking spell.
It should start debuff reverse timer the moment it hits, without being affected by same shower afterwards, even if you go through it.
It will still give the same utility and potential high nuke power to the ice gauntlet, but it can also leave room for outplay if the opponent can survive during that stamina lock.
As for Gravity Well… I have no idea.
We need greataxe users that have tested all the buggy interactions inside gravity well to post them and give quality feedback about how to balance it out better.
But as for the damage that a Gravity Well can do, that’s way too overtuned.
Gravity well is absurdly OP and has created a very boring pvp meta. Its basically a ranged aoe pull and root that does more damage than a perfect ice spike.
I’m looking towards pvp balance, as frustrating as current meta is, I don’t want others to have a bad experience in return of me having fun, but everyone working together in giving the right feedback so that we can all strive towards a better future balanced New World.
I don’t want Gravity Well removed, I want to see good balancing.
There was nothing wrong with old Gravity Well, and I don’t understand how the idea of first wanting to nerf it, ended up in a monstruos buff.
It shouldn’t have been either nerfed or buffed.
But I am starting to realise why.
Because of bad feedback.
That’s why it’s very important to test and give the right information.
Don’t just be happy because finally your weapon is getting buffed, or that the weapon you’re struggling against is getting nerfed.
Look at the big picture, and see how the game is affected entirely by those buffs/nerfs, especially in wars.
First two clips you got rooted while casting burnout, which does not protect you from roots. It is the desync issue. Client had to catch up to the server…very unfortunate and needs to be fixed. As a side note it’s much better to try to Iframe the g well. Burnout will not save you unless you use it after you’ve already been hit and after the 1 sec root wears off.
In the third clip, g well hit you for 5,864 dmg. This is the result of insatiable grav well + it crit + 10% more dmg from having your friend in there as well as whatever empowering I’m sure that player had active.
I am not a computer programmer or anything, but being held by roots or whatever until you die, with no ablity to escape doesn’t seem like something fun people will want to do for long.
Absolutely broken OP skill that is auto-death for mages. Why MELEE users have this OP ranged magical ability is inexplicable, yet they continue to whine about RANGED magic users having a ranged AOE ability LOL. Nerf grav well to the ground, it is ruining PvP balance and currently dominates every battlefield.
