It s not supposed to Root at all according to the Great Axe Abilities
Gravity Well Croded Perk
Gravity Well Tooltip
Unyielding Gravity Well

And it s armor Perk or Weapon Perk :

insatiable Gravity Well

Gain 50% of your damage with Gravity Well back as Health, and cast another burst around you on successful hit.

You think there is any good reason why aoe cc skill should hit anyone for more than 50% hp? :slight_smile:

The insatiable gravity well just adds a laughable layer of brokeness to an already broken ability. It’s a ranged, high damage, aoe ability (on a melee weapon) with high CC and now it ALSO heals and casts twice? LOL, is there literally anything it doesn’t do?! No wonder the charms for this perk are going for 4.2k each on my server.

I’m all for removing them if it fixes desync but what’s really needed in the game is more options to remove debuffs like debuff removal potion. So if I time a grav well with the debuff potion root never activates and I can counter attack. Bottom line everyone needs to chill on balancing for wars… WARS WILL NEVER BE BALANCED you have 40 people all spamming spells let’s be real it’s a bloodbath however they might be able to balance 3v3 which imo matters much more.

Balance 3v3? Good luck qith that.
PvP in general is still far from balanced and still full of bugs and glitches.

Also the arenas are made for melee only. If you are ranged or caster, once the circle of fire starts to close in you will be forced to go into melee range.

Not to mention that currently it takes 3-4 people 3-4 minutes to kill a single healer…

Now how do you counter this team:
Player 1 - Heavy armor GA/WH
Player 2 - Heavy armor LS/WH
Player 3 - Heavy armor LS/VG

How do you counter this team?

Light armor players die in 3 hits cant go to arenas (light armor needs to be buffed btw)

Ranged are useless due to the circle of fire.
Mages, same thing.

Only CC heavy, melee and helers will succeed in arenas. So firestaff, rapier, musket, bow and hatchet, will never have a chance in arenas…

Light armor does not need buffed, neither does any of the weapons you mentioned. Mages and ranged are easily capable with a rapier, hatchet has defy death the best solo weapon period paired with a spear.

If healers and hp potions with out limit will be allowed in arenas - light armor have no chance. Since all the dmg will be outhealed and then fire circle will start to narrow battlefield and mele users will catch and kill light armors.

Refreshing pillar of fire, you will do way more dps than a grav well hitting clumps with pillar and the insanely short cool down.

I don’t think its gravity well per se, a lot of skills seem to bug out on occasion when they come into contact with certain graphic effects if you ask me.

People over reacting to GA, 1v1 easy to ignore just like the WH skills. The issue’s occur in large confrontations where everything that stuns or roots etc just get’s spammed, due to the lack of any utility skills to counter these things, combat fluidity fails to scale.

same for maelstrom, or how ever the GA skill is called, that blocks all projectiles

It’s a 10 second cool down you have 3 times to hit to a single 30 second grav well and the refreshing pillar of fire makes it even stronger.

No light armor dont need buffs they are not dedicated to fight in close combat, if u play light armor ok, is good eq but dont demand any changes if u dont know your correct positioning. What is not balanced in your opinion? Your build for 3v3 will not work.

But GA? Every other ability in the kit has a theme centred using a physical weapon, so why is this one the outlier? You already have Reap and Charge as gap closing mechanics. If you need a CC ability for this weapon, add Pommel or something lol

But they added to GA, and for massive fights this skill is needed. Only this skill gives a chance to kill zerg on one cooldown by pulling them into one place if they run in one big stack. Mistkes must be punished, stacking in zerg is big mistake.

Needed? Part of team based fights and combat is coordinating to organise choreographed abilities to secure kills, not “hey lets give this one weapon everything”.

GA already has 2 abilities that are focused on big AOE damage. This weapon specifically doesn’t need CC / Root / Damage / Defense prevention all rolled into one ability.

I mean even if you swapped Petrifying Scream with Gravity Well, it’d make more sense thematically as a berserker intimidating their enemies with a yell, it’s melee oriented as in they have to be standing right in front of you to activate and it’d still be a similar mechanic regardless except it’d probably taken more braincells to use effectively.

Because GA is dedicated to massive fights ? Catch clumps, be in the front of fight so this weapon needs a lot of aoe skills. Void Gauntlet is more support weapon boost your allies dps, reduce oponents defense, you can root running away oponents with low HP to finish them.

Gravity do not increase your allies dmg, defense but who use it this way ? Mostly they throw it from bigger distance … before they follow this call gravity has already ended.
