The mage probably is the most difficult class to be good at in PVP. Let’s look at light and heavy attacks. The long cast time, the slow movement during and AFTER casting, and the extremely slow projectile making hitting target difficult. A good ice mage often play in melee range to make good use of shower and spike, and play against melee player who have much easier basic attack plus all the stuns they have.
Very often, I find myself 1v1 a melee player in OPR. I could usually get good heavy attacks to root in storm and get burst damage with shower after spike. Usually those are not enough to kill them. And after potting, I’ll have to do my best to hit good heavy attacks and spikes again. Though very fun to play, all these heavy and spikes are tiring to play. Soon I’ll get tired and start missing my heavy and spikes, and that’s when the melee who has been stun spamming is able to catch me and kill me.
Either make it easier for mages to hit attacks or reward their effort. I bet a lot of people feel the same.
