Its a shame this game is going in the wrong direction

I went from playing 4-6 hours a day to maybe I’ll login and do a cooldown or OPR.

The initially push Level: 0 - 60. That was fun, challenging and provided variety. But, I’m also a pvp player. And, had to catch up to my already level 60 friends. Which made it less enjoyable. And, you are not useful for pvp until level 60 for the most part.

Once at level 60, it allowed competitiveness in wars and we won several territories. But, since we really wanted to be competitive, there was a push for everyone to get at least void armor. Which meant most of us had to grind smelting, leatherworking and weaving. So that a single armorer could make sets. And, that grind is soul killing. It is monotonous to the extreme.

With void armor, that wasn’t enough. You also had to level up your gear score in order to get the best in slot weapons. Which meant mindless zerging shattered mountain sites or doing over and over again solo chest runs that might increase the gear score.

And, that is when things just stopped being fun. The grind for crafting and the grind for gear score.

After a month of both, I quite simply left my pvp orientated company. It was not fun to be focused on that grind. It was too monotonous, boring and not fun. The server merges brought on its own problems as where we once owned territory, we were now little fish in a big pond where you would have to join the ruling company just to get wars.

So, right now, I login every once in a while. I don’t do gear score farming, I wanted to get all my armoring trophies maxed out and had finally gotten all of the clothing for it let alone level 200 in armoring. But, I just am not motivated to level of furnishing to 200. It’s not fun and really doesn’t seem worth it. The game has no soul, no appeal and largely no reason to play it anymore.

The pvp is broken as well. Desync, bugs, exploits. I ended up spending too much time yelling why at my computer. The weapon switch bug, the fact they haven’t fixed it yet. Just wow.

The game really has lost its appeal. And, now they are adding more grinds, more time gates, more soul destroying things that don’t interest most players. I have 950 hours in this. About, 300 of it was worth it. After that, I should of just stopped.

The biggest problem is that it was supposed to be a pvp game. At this moment, the content is only for pve players, mutated dungeon, chest run, open dungeon, invasion. Pvp players only have war and outpost to do. Outpost has also some of pve but never mind. The problem is that if pvp player wants to play only pvp, they can’t. Every upgrade in this game is for pve. It’s not fair for pvp players. I started playing new world because of pvp but now I’m a little bit dissapointed like many other players.

The 5 minutes per day that I play, because there is no progression playing PvP, I only see bots. Bots everywhere. Nice, no progression while playing PvP in a game with human players are the minority… Good that atleast bot owners are well equipped… progression = get a bot… Well done AGS.

you are projecting a lot, the dude didnt say pve shouldnt exist, the dude says he wants to be able to engage in pvp without having to grind pve for months.

this isnt really a hot take. Its a very bad idea to try to force players to do something they dislike, in order to do something they like. You should set up rewards, and game design such that players can naturally progress for the content they prefer, by playing the content they prefer.

this doesnt mean abanadon pve, or force pvers to pvp, it means give options to the players to achieve their goals in multiple ways.

which the game had before expertise, you could craft, or buy gearvto partivipate in pvp at a high level. That is not the case anymore. You must grind expertise, and dungeons to be competitive at the top levels of pvp now.

this is a new development, within the last month, not how the game was presented to players

Yeah, bots are pretty annoying and I understand they ruin alot of the fun for crafters. I just wonder how the prices in AH would be without bots. Iron Ore 20g…?

I decided to shelf this game for good.
GA build is broken and I dont like the feel of the other weapons but what really had me decide is the humongous grind that awaits me to grind for new weapons/armour ON TOP of the daily grind (that will be increased with the new patch.)

Devs, if you want to keep your players you might want to reconcider the grinds and timegates. You are asking your players to put in an enourmous amount of time if they want to stay competetive and the GS increase comes way too early. Annd to be honest, this game is the most unrewarding game I ever played for the time you put in.

it is not possible to set so many limits. If Ags releases a game without High end content it cannot castrate the game in this way to slow down the players in the progression of the game. it seems to me a continuous fail of AGS. DRILLING.
The game need fix desync and PvP now… this game near ti death…

I understand you very well.
I understand AGS aswell, they want increase the grind to extend playtime and try to keep this game alive.
On the other side me and others just dropped this brutal PVE grind completely. I am only interested in PVP. Instead of try the mandatory PvE Progression to be able to play PVP competitive I just abandoned this game.
I only play what I like, this includes the way of Progression/Grind.

Yeah, they went from full pvp (alpha) to completely shaft the pvp players…
1 of all gypsum is pvp reward.
I only got 1 bump from pvp chests while a day pve can yield 10+ bumps (chests and mob drops… and then im not even talking endgame pve dungeons).

PvP imbalances go on for weeks without corrections. But they were sure fast to correct chestrun reward and stuff that made the grind easier…

They went from full toxic base to a more solvent one.

No attack, but pvp only folks sweep in, rip games apart and spread negativity, then (thankfully) they leave and the normal folks can play in peace.

I stay flagged, and while I’m a good group pvp person, I suck at duels. But that doesn’t deter me from playing the pvp side of this game. It’s really fun…. If you’re into fun. Like a video game is supposed to be fun. But if you’re shattering your teeth and quitting (thank god) because of one tiny lunge reduction which is minimal, and the loss of 78 hp attack every 18 seconds, you’re that kind of locust player I just talked about.

I’m anxious for the game to become fun when the original community gets the hint that they and their toxic, cruel, and negative style of gaming isn’t wanted here or in most mmos. Then they can play the game they like such as mobas, or full loot l33t pwnage battle royals.

Honestly, you must know by now that ags isn’t interested in your demands. And you have to realize that when you post about everyone and nobody, and all the player base, you’re really meaning just you and your friends in game. There are loads of others people who play. They want a different experience than you do. And ags told you, before launch. Before later betas even…. The direction of the game changed. They are moving away from the pvp centric focus to a more full on mmorpg.

Just let that sink in before you start spamming your automatic hate replies. Roll it around and savor it.

The worst part about a couple is how long they stay together when the love is gone. It’s time you parted ways with the game. She’s not your hoe anymore. There are far more rachet hoes out there that smell more like you. Go git em, tiger!

80-90% of the players left so I’m not the only one.

Even if the lunge reduction was minimal it made the difference between beeing able to hit or not hit at all.
The swing animation is very slow so axe needed the lunge to be able to stay with target. I dont care about reap dmg reduction but I do care that reap more often propel the enemy away rather than pull the enemy.

I don’t mind they (AGS) changed focus from full loot pvp to pve. I think that was a smart move. I like pvp but would never play a full loot pvp game.

What I think is the wrong direction is they increase the grind (on current content). They do not allow players to relax and enjoy the GS 590 grind before introducing next grind.

I think its wrong they “force” players to play as AGS wants… AND that they made some really stupid design decisions like individual timegates instead of daily reset.

Im fine with 7 gypsums BUT they should drop no matter what you do… If you do a day pve then you should get the 7 gypsum… If you do a day of OPR you should get the gypsum or if you spend a day gathering and crafting you should also get the 7 gypsum… Or 6 gypsum… the event gypsum should be connected to the event…

I don’t mind PvE but I hate you are forced to do it and for so long time… And that is the only viable way of progression atm. I spent numerous hours in OPR but from all OPR chests I got 1 single bump in expertise. If I do a full chestrun i get minimum 5 bumps but more often (atleast on lower levels 8 bumps).

The mutation system will force players to grind dungeons to be viable in PVP…

I don’t like the toxic pvp 1337 dudes either, I do both pvp and pve but this game is extremely unrewarding for the pvp part.

With my friends was some RL friends and most guild… that quit. I know ppl will always quit in the beginning but AGS is pretty disrespectful for their core playerbase and that is a big mistake imho. I never ever played a game that is so unrewarding.

They are also way too slow to balance stuff and when they nerf they destroy rather than nerf.

Their counter to everything is to make everything slower and chunkier instead of buffing the slower abilities to keep up. They make fluid gameplay feel more and more static and chunky.

They have some serious bugs that is connected to the core gameplay like weapon swapping bug, desync, the fact you try to drink a potion and see the icon flash but the char is not drinking… The lack of visual representation on whats going on… Im stunned but all my ability and potion icons are lit… I click but nothing happens? It wouldnt be too hard to implement that when you cant dring a potion or use an ability the icons are greyed out so the player understand you cant do that now.

If a pvper or crafter get rewarded for what they do it doesnt take away the gameplay fun for you as pve:er right?

Pvp people cried and begged ags to force everyone to flag up.

Ags offered an incentive to anyone who flags up in an effort to give pvp people more people to kill.

But pvp people cry when told that, if you want the full rewards, you have to play more of the game than just mindless pvp.

I’m against the forced flagging btw… Why should a pvp specced guy hunt ppl in crafting gear other than griefing?

But if pvp is mindless I must have missed out on what is not mindless in this game? Pressing E at a tree or zerging chests?.. Even soloing chests is pretty mindless so what challange do we have that I missed out on?

Wrong direction? This game is going in no direction and that’s the problem since alpha. The devs go three steps right then three steps left, then they go three steps up and then three steps down. Eventually they are back where they started and wasted time without going anywhere.
