It's June, and Shell Company problem has not been fixed

I’m actually really surprised that there is not a cooldown for company changes. Even games where there is no benefit for doing so (At least not to me) have timers to stop guild hopping.

Some of them is 24hrs some are 72hrs, i’m assuming it has to do with war/node/pvp reasons on those games as well.

As i understand it right now, a perfect shell here would have one of each faction, and a second or third per faction to push influence to try to guarantee decs. Meaning a perfectly functioning one could own everything and have the top 50 heavy hitters involved in every one of those wars. Something light that right?

This really needed to have been fixed months ago. There are so many ways to address it.

For example, limit the number of players in your army that are from another company to 20 and another faction to 5, then set a 72 hour cooldown for changing companies.

Or another example is to charge an increasing amount of gold for add mercenary slots to your army; a mercenary being defined as a non-company member. Once paid for, a mercenary slot cannot be refunded. I think the mercenary fee should be based on a percentage of your last period statement; so the first week, it’s free, second week and on, you’re paying say, 0.5% to 1% per slot. Combine with a 72 hour company change cooldown.

This is the solution.

Not war cooldowns for legit players who got lucky enough to get slotted twice in a day.

There’s no reason you should not have a week cooldown or so, between swapping company.

You can still do faction related content and you can still participate in wars and such even if you aren’t in a company, but you should not be able to push 10% on one company, then swap, and push 10% on the next one etc, during the time it would take to do a single territory push.

If your company has 150 people, sure it should be fine that you have 100 in one company and 50 in an overflow company, but these guys with a bunch of 5 man companies are just abusing the system most of the time and THAT should be laser focused by the devs as something to be fixed without hurting something like a super large legit company, or a single super lucky and well known guy from getting into multiple wars.

Attack the source of the issue, which is people making tiny shell companies and breaking the declare system, and find a way to do it without harming the people who are legitimately playing the game and trying hard and putting in the effort to get into wars and do a good job.

On a related note, I’d prefer faction swaps to have a much longer cooldown (or never in a perfect world)

People might actually stop breaking servers and transferring to the next one and doing the same if it was just a tiny bit harder to game the various systems and form super companies or move them around from one faction to the next.

If there was some way to prove people are doing cross faction shells, those people should be outright banned.

It’s insane that it’s still a thing. There have been multiple proposed solutions that would deal with shell companies destroying servers. AGS are so out of touch and don’t even realize that this game mode is what makes New World unique. Solid gathering and crafting and a beautiful world, but nothing so special. PvE is lackluster.

Wars are the unique big pull and so many don’t get a chance to participate.

Are we actually surprised at this point?

Absolutely insane. Just implement a company cooldown. It’s the simplest solution. How they let this go on for so long is beyond me. What is worse is that there has been zero response from AGS to any of these threads.

I actually am surprised. This clearly seems like the type of gameplay they wouldn’t want in their game, and they love putting caps on stuff. I’m surprised because the problem seems extremely easy to solve. Not only was it not solved, but AGS hasn’t even said anything to display their intention to solve it. There are not many other problems in this game that causes so many people to quit the game.

Agree with all of this, this is killing the game and at this point in time should be AGS’s top priority to fix. I would suggest a 30-day company change CD, minimum of 25 company members and 40 faction members slotted per war and a 24-hour CD on wars, which resets like gypsum etc. at 5am server, so that you can only do one war per day. This will allow more players to participate in wars, which are the only meaningful endgame content left for many people who have maxxed out gear score, mutators etc.

Company cooldown alone doesn’t solve it, but is def part of the fix. It would stop new shells being able to readily push, but all that already own multiple still can. There needs to be either war fatigue or a certain amount of players on the war roster have to be in your company. Otherwise they can continuously hold with one 50 man

This was compounded even further this week for my server, a certain company from maramma dropped in with multiple shells and is taking over the entire map. They win every dec and it’s the same people in every war. By end of the week it’s going to be one solid color

I agree this is one of the biggest problems on my server right now. In my server one company and their shell companies own 5 territories right now. They also have shell companies in the other faction so we just go to war against the same people in every territory. I agree one good solution would be a one week cooldown for changing companies.

They’re not going to fix this because this actually make it harder for people to enjoy one of their end game feature. This is inline with their mission.

Why not just have siege windows overlap, to allow for double/triple war decs?

Attackers choose the timeframe, sync it up so the same 50 man stack can’t go to every siege since it’s all happening at the same time

This is a good idea and is more realistic anyway. Since when do defenders choose when any war is going to happen? If you’ve got an army at the gates of your city, seems a bit bizarre that you can say, “Come back at 9.30pm, lads.”

Easiest way is if you change company, all influences points that account did is erased and never happened.

Implementing big changes to fix the problem caused by shell companies might take time, can we please have a company swap Cooldown. Like the one that’s there for the faction, reuse the code.

Looks like they’re going to wait until the playerbase dwindles down below 10k to do even the most simple thing. The constantly add cooldowns for things no one ask for, but a cooldown for this hasn’t come yet. Really curious at what’s going on in the minds of leadership at AGS because their decisions don’t really make any sense.

I was about to post a long reply explaining how shell companies makes people quit this game every day and its snowballing effect. Then it came to my mind that this problem has been reported weekly since the game released. Its obvious that AGS only had a 1 year vision for this game. It will be too late to do anything with this problem now anyways.

I don’t think it’s too late, but I get where you’re coming from. We’ve been complaining about this for a very long time. This needs to be done before they make a big push to get players back (by making the game F2P or a big expansion people will care about). If they don’t do it before then, then it’s definitely too late.
